Anti-Social Behaviour was again voted a priority in the May 2026 community survey.

    Wedi'i roi 08 Mehefin 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

The local Neighbourhood Policing Team is continuing its work to reduce youth related anti social behaviour (ASB) in Chandos Park, the Skate Park, Bourton Park, Candleford Court, and Hunter Street.
An increase reflects a wider trend across the force and is not unique to Buckingham and the villages. It is likely linked to changes in ASB recording practices introduced over the past year, rather than a genuine surge in ASB crimes or incidents—although the raw numbers may suggest otherwise.
Historically, ASB reports decrease during the winter months as fewer people are out and about. However, ASB remains a priority for the team all year round.
Several local shops recently reported shoplifting incidents involving a prolific offender in Buckingham Town Centre. This individual was located by the local team in Milton Keynes, arrested, charged with three shoplifting offences, and remanded to court.
Officers and PCSOs continue regular patrols in Buckingham Town Centre, which remains a designated hotspot patrol area. If you see us out on foot, please feel free to stop, say hello, and discuss any ASB concerns you may have.
June update: 7 recorded instances of ASB in May a reduction on previous month. visits to home addresses to issue yellow card warning to know offenders, primary school talks and secondary school visits to discuss knife crime.
July update: 9th, 18th & 19th June we visited youth clubs to discuss ASB, consequences and action can be taken. 16th June ASB survey completed with Fairhive housing in Pightle Crescent 20+ residents visited to problem solve issues raised.
•Actions will be reviewed on the 30th of each month to track progress and adjust where needed.
•The ASB priority will be reviewed quarterly in line with future community survey results.
If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www.thamesvalley.police.ukj

Burglary was voted again as a priority for Buckingham in the May 2026 community survey.

    Wedi'i roi 08 Mehefin 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

The Buckingham Neighbourhood Team continues to focus on deterring and reducing burglary across the area. We are monitoring recorded incidents on a month‑by‑month basis to identify improvements and adjust our actions where necessary.
Between 1 December 2025 and 19 February 2026, there have been eight reported burglaries in the area. These incidents do not follow a pattern of behaviour, are not linked, and appear to be isolated.
The neighbourhood team has successfully resolved two of these offences after identifying a suspect responsible for thefts from a nursery in January. The individual was arrested and issued conditional cautions for the offences.
The team has planned several Have Your Say meetings in next 3 months in Buckingham, engaging with the community, offering crime‑prevention guidance, and signposting to partner agencies where appropriate.
We continue to carry out targeted patrols and door‑to‑door engagement in areas affected by new burglary reports, offering crime‑prevention advice tailored to recent methods of entry. High‑visibility patrols will remain in place, particularly during the darker months when burglary risks can increase. Leaflet drops and home‑security advice will also continue.
June update: 1 business burglary and 1 attempt business reported in May 2026. We have started our summer burglary campaign re vacant properties during holidays and targeted rural and urban streets with advisory leaflets. This will continue throughout the summer months with lighter evenings and more properties leaving windows open.
July update: 4 residential burglary & 4 business burglary in June, unfortunately warmer weather tends to see an increase as doors and windows are often left open. Prevention advice will be offered at all Have your say events to reduce these figures. 80 homes were visited 16/06 Manor Park with prevention leaflets. 21/06 pop up burglary HYS held Westbury to discuss crime prevention and offer advice. These HYS meetings will continue monthly.
Actions will be reviewed monthly (on the 30th) to assess progress and make changes where needed. Each priority will also undergo a quarterly review in line with community‑survey results.
If you have any information, please call 101 or report online at www.thamesvalley.police.uk.
Dial 999 if a crime is in progress or if you are at immediate risk of harm.

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Drugs have been identified as a new priority for Buckingham residents following the latest community survey.
In response, the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be working closely with local residents and businesses to identify offenders and take appropriate action. This will include increased high‑visibility patrols and stop checks where necessary.
Ongoing operations in town centre and working with other teams ongoing, we have also developed educational package to deliver to secondary school students.
June Update: 3 intent to supply instances and 1 possession in May 2026. During May several offenders were remanded making a positive impact on drug supply in the town area. Junes actions to include further plain clothed proactive patrols along with joint working with other departments and partners .
July update: 6 recorded possession an increase on previous month, no intent to supply a reduction on previous month.
Actions will be reviewed on the 30th of each month to ensure progress is being made, and this priority will be formally reviewed quarterly in line with community survey results.
