About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti-Social Behaviour was again voted a priority in the August 2026 community survey.

    Issued 14 September 2026

    Action taken:

The local Neighbourhood Policing Team is continuing its work to reduce youth related anti social behaviour (ASB) in Chandos Park, the Skate Park, Bourton Park, Candleford Court, and Hunter Street in Buckingham, as well as within Steeple Claydon and Calvert Green.
An increase reflects a wider trend across the force and is not unique to Buckingham and the villages. It is likely linked to changes in ASB recording practices introduced over the past year, rather than a genuine surge in ASB crimes or incidents—although the raw numbers may suggest otherwise.
Historically, ASB reports decrease during the winter months as fewer people are out and about. However, ASB remains a priority for the team all year round.
Officers and PCSOs continue regular patrols in Buckingham Town Centre, which remains a designated hotspot patrol area. If you see us out on foot, please feel free to stop, say hello, and discuss any ASB concerns you may have.
The team hold a month meeting with Buckingham University and over the month of August have been working with a housing association in relation to some youth ASB issues at Candleford Court. We also had some ASB reported within Foscott Bird Hide. Officers from the team have also been attending the Youth Club within Buckingham.
Oct update: Several visits to youth clubs and the Uni throughout Sept with positive engagement with local youth. Visited the homes of 2 youth re ASB on derelict land to discuss with parents. Further club visits and hi vis patrols to continue in Oct to build relationships with young people and deter ASB in the area. We will also be present at the Charter Fayre at the end of the month.
•Actions will be reviewed on the 30th of each month to track progress and adjust where needed.
•The ASB priority will be reviewed quarterly in line with future community survey results.
If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www.thamesvalley.police.ukj
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.

  • Priority:

Drugs was voted again as a priority in the Buckingham area in the August 2026 community survey.

    Issued 14 September 2026

    Action taken:

Drugs have been identified as a priority for Buckingham residents following the latest community survey.
In response, the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be working closely with local residents and businesses to identify offenders and take appropriate action. This will include increased high‑visibility patrols and stop checks where necessary.
Ongoing operations in town centre and working with other teams ongoing, we have also developed educational package to deliver to secondary school students.
During August and early September, officers in Buckingham arrested and charged a male for possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, who was subsequently remanded to court. Officers also executed a warrant at an address in Finmere as part of an investigation into drug supply affecting Buckingham. In early September, a vehicle believed to be linked to drug supply activity was seized, and a further individual was arrested in connection with drug supply offences.
Oct update: 3 possession and 2 intent to supply in Sept. Town centre stop & search with a positive result, later a vehicle linked was stopped and driver arrested for intent to supply.
Actions will be reviewed on the 30th of each month to ensure progress is being made, and this priority will be formally reviewed quarterly in line with community survey results.
If you have any information, please report it via 101 or online at www.thamesvalley.police.uk.
In an emergency or if a crime is in progress, always call 999.
