The neighbourhood policing team is actively targeting shop theft, drug dealing and anti-social behaviour across the area, with a particular focus on identified hotspots such as the Crow Lane area. We have recently seen an increase in theft offences affecting local stores, which has caused concern for business owners and staff.

We have taken positive action, including the arrest of two individuals in connection with recent offences. However, we recognise that this is an ongoing issue, and we will continue to work proactively to address repeat offending and prevent further incidents. This includes targeted patrols, gathering intelligence and working closely with businesses to identify those responsible. These types of offences can have a significant impact on local businesses and the wider community, contributing to feelings of insecurity and disruption. We are committed to supporting retailers and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. As part of our approach, we will be increasing our engagement with local shops, community hubs, members of the public and schools. This is aimed at raising awareness around crime prevention, encouraging reporting, and helping people understand how to keep themselves safe. Building strong relationships within the community is key to tackling these issues effectively. If your business is experiencing ongoing problems, we encourage you to get in touch with us. Sharing information helps us identify patterns, respond to emerging issues and take targeted action where it is most needed.

    How you can report

    • Avon and Somerset Police You can report incidents online via the Avon and Somerset Police website.
    • Crimestoppers An independent UK charity that allows you to provide information about crime anonymously.
Your information plays a vital role in helping us take action and keep your community safe.

  • Blaenoriaeth:

We've received numerous reports of anti-social behaviour involving the reckless use of e-bikes within the Blaise Castle Estate and around the museum grounds. This behaviour is unacceptable and poses a risk to the safety of visitors, staff, and other park users who are entitled to enjoy the area without fear of injury or nuisance.

We are aware of the ongoing concerns and are actively monitoring the situation. Neighbourhood policing teams will continue to engage with local partners, including Blaise Castle Estate and Museum management, to identify and develop suitable measures aimed at tackling both the dangerous use of e-bikes and the ongoing incidents of graffiti and criminal damage affecting the site. We would encourage members of the public to continue reporting any incidents to the police, as this information helps us build a clearer picture of the issue and direct resources where they are most needed. Working alongside our partners, we are committed to exploring practical solutions to improve safety, reduce anti-social behaviour, and preserve this valued communityspaceforeveryonetoenjoy.
