About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

The neighbourhood policing team is actively targeting shop theft, drug dealing and anti-social behaviour across the area, with a particular focus on identified hotspots such as the Crow Lane area. We have recently seen an increase in theft offences affecting local stores, which has caused concern for business owners and staff.

We have taken positive action, including the arrest of two individuals in connection with recent offences. However, we recognise that this is an ongoing issue, and we will continue to work proactively to address repeat offending and prevent further incidents. This includes targeted patrols, gathering intelligence and working closely with businesses to identify those responsible. These types of offences can have a significant impact on local businesses and the wider community, contributing to feelings of insecurity and disruption. We are committed to supporting retailers and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. As part of our approach, we will be increasing our engagement with local shops, community hubs, members of the public and schools. This is aimed at raising awareness around crime prevention, encouraging reporting, and helping people understand how to keep themselves safe. Building strong relationships within the community is key to tackling these issues effectively. If your business is experiencing ongoing problems, we encourage you to get in touch with us. Sharing information helps us identify patterns, respond to emerging issues and take targeted action where it is most needed.

    How you can report
