    ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR-
    We have received a number of reports concerning the suspected use of cannabis at properties on Oxbow Close, Blackberry Crescent, Kennelmore Road and Beaufighter Crescent. These concerns are being assessed, and enquiries will be progressed where appropriate.

    We have also received reports of anti-social behaviour involving groups of youths in the areas of Casterton Drive, Solway Close and Lowesby Close. Local officers are reviewing the information provided and will direct patrols to these locations to provide reassurance and address any issues identified.

    Concerns continue to be raised regarding parking around local schools across the beat, particularly during drop-off and pick-up times. Reports include vehicles parking on pavements, causing obstructions to pedestrians, parking too close to junctions, stopping in restricted areas and blocking residents' driveways. We will continue to monitor these locations and take enforcement action where necessary.

    Further concerns have been reported regarding vehicles parking dangerously at junctions on Hunters Drive and in the vicinity of Grange Drive. These locations will form part of ongoing patrol activity, and motorists are reminded to park considerately and in accordance with the Highway Code.

    Through Neighbourhood Link, ASB call‑backs and our social media channels, members of the community have consistently identified anti‑social behaviour as a key concern on the Melton Town South Beat. We will continue to work closely with residents and partner agencies to address these issues.

    We have received a number of reports concerning the suspected use of cannabis at properties on Oxbow Close, Blackberry Crescent and Kennelmore Road.
    Action: These concerns are being assessed by neighbourhood officers and enquiries will be progressed where appropriate. High-visibility patrols will continue in these areas, and appropriate action will be taken where offences are identified.

    Anti-Social Behaviour
    Several residents have reported incidents of anti-social behaviour involving groups of youths in the areas of Casterton Drive, Solway Close and Lowesby Close.
    Action: Patrol plans have been adjusted to increase visibility in these locations, particularly during periods when incidents are most commonly reported. Officers will continue to engage with local residents and partner agencies to identify those involved and address any ongoing issues.

    School Parking Concerns
    We have received numerous complaints regarding inconsiderate and unsafe parking around local schools across the beat area. Concerns include vehicles parking on pavements, obstructing pedestrian access, stopping in restricted areas, parking too close to junctions and blocking residents' driveways.
    Action: Officers will continue to carry out school-time patrols and parking operations, providing advice and education where appropriate and taking enforcement action when necessary. We will also continue to support schools in promoting safe and considerate parking practices to parents and carers.

    Parking on Hunters Drive and Grange Drive
    Further concerns have been raised regarding vehicles parking dangerously at junctions on Hunters Drive and within the Grange Drive area.
    Action: These locations will form part of ongoing directed patrol activity. Motorists are reminded to park safely and in accordance with the Highway Code, with enforcement action being considered where vehicles are causing obstruction or creating a road safety risk.

    Through Neighbourhood Link, ASB call‑backs and our social media channels, residents have consistently identified anti‑social behaviour as a key concern on the Melton Town South Beat.
    We fully appreciate the negative impact resulting from ASB and how it can affect people mentally and physically, so please do not hesitate to report ASB to Police online via https://www.leics.police.uk/ , or by calling the Police on 101, (always 999 in an emergency).

    Speeding and Road Safety
    Through reports received via Neighbourhood Link and directly from members of the community, concerns continue to be raised regarding speeding vehicles and road safety across the Melton Town South Beat.
    Locations most frequently highlighted by residents include:

    Ankle Hill
    Kirby Lane
    Sandy Lane

    Residents have reported vehicles travelling at excessive speeds, creating concerns for pedestrian safety and the wider community, particularly during peak traffic periods.
    In addition to speeding concerns, we have received a number of reports relating to Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) travelling through roads subject to weight restrictions. Locations highlighted include:

    Norfolk Drive
    Sandy Lane
    Craven Street
    Burton Road

    Concerns raised include the impact of large vehicles using unsuitable routes, increased traffic volumes, road safety risks, and potential damage to local roads and infrastructure.
    Information provided by residents continues to help officers build an understanding of the issues affecting the local area and identify locations requiring ongoing monitoring.

    Through Neighbourhood Link and reports made directly to officers, the community has continued to raise concerns regarding road safety and speeding vehicles across the Melton Town South Beat. Areas most frequently highlighted include:

    Residents have reported concerns about vehicles travelling at excessive speeds, particularly during peak traffic periods, creating risks for pedestrians, cyclists and other road users.

    Action: Officers continue to carry out targeted speed enforcement and monitoring activities in these locations, focusing on times identified through community reports and local intelligence. High-visibility patrols are regularly undertaken to deter unsafe driving and provide reassurance to residents.

    We continue to work closely with specialist policing resources to address persistent speeding concerns and identify drivers who place others at risk through their manner of driving. Information gathered through speed-monitoring activities helps inform patrol plans and identify locations requiring further attention.

    The Beat Team remains committed to improving road safety across the Melton Town South Beat through a combination of speed enforcement, visible policing and community engagement. Speed-monitoring equipment and enforcement resources are deployed at key locations across the beat, helping to address concerns raised by residents and encourage compliance with speed limits.

    We will continue to prioritise the locations highlighted by the community and use information received from residents to guide future road-safety activity.

    Over recent months, we have received a number of reports relating to suspected drug dealing and drug use across the beat area. Locations most frequently highlighted by residents include Oxbow Close and Blackberry Crescent, along with surrounding streets.
    Concerns raised include suspected cannabis use at residential properties, individuals believed to be involved in drug-related activity, and vehicles or persons attending locations for short periods in circumstances considered suspicious by local residents.
    The information provided by the community is being used to help build an intelligence picture of the area and identify any ongoing issues requiring police attention. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting concerns, as community information remains vital in assisting local officers to understand and tackle issues affecting neighbourhoods.

    Through Neighbourhood Link, Social Media accounts, and direct community feedback and information, the community have raised the issue of Drug Dealing on the Melton Town South Beat. which seems to be a common issue across the whole beat.

    Over recent months, we have received multiple reports relating to drug dealing and drug use across the beat area, particularly in Oxbow Close, Blackberry Crescent and Hartopp Road. Concerns raised include suspected cannabis use, drug-related activity at residential addresses, and individuals attending locations for short periods in circumstances deemed suspicious by local residents.

    Action: Neighbourhood officers continue to conduct high-visibility patrols in the identified areas, both at reported peak times and throughout the day, to provide reassurance, deter criminality and gather intelligence. Information received from the community is actively reviewed and used to support ongoing investigations and enforcement activity where appropriate.
    We have also received reports of cuckooing, where vulnerable individuals are exploited and their homes are used for criminal purposes.

    Action: Officers are carrying out safeguarding and welfare visits to individuals identified as being at risk and are working closely with partner agencies to ensure appropriate support and protective measures are in place.
    Joint work with the Safer Communities Team at Melton Borough Council continues, including partnership patrols, patch walks and targeted visits to areas where drug-related concerns have been reported.

    If you have any information in relation to drug dealing please report these matters to the beat team, 101, online or if you would like to do this anonymously you can submit this via Crime Stoppers.

    The Beat Team continue to work with our response colleagues in visiting and supporting those suspected to be exploited or vulnerable to cuckooing.
