Parking and Anti- Social Behaviour concerns on BISHOPDALE
We have received multiple complaints from residents, via various reporting channels, regarding dangerous, inconsiderate, and illegal parking along with Anti Social in the vicinity of Bishopdale. These issues appear to be particularly prevalent on Saturdays and are disruption and safety concerns within the community.

n response, the Beat Team has carried out a number of high-visibility patrols in the area to provide reassurance to residents, gather intelligence and address the issues directly. Officers have engaged positively with both residents and visitors to the nearby park, offering advice and education around considerate parking and the importance of respecting the local community.
Whilst conducting patrols, officers have also received reports relating to separate incidents of anti-social behaviour involving groups of young people in and around the area. These concerns have been taken seriously, and work is ongoing to identify those responsible through patrol activity, community intelligence and partnership working.
Where individuals have been identified, the Neighbourhood Policing Team is adopting an incremental anti-social behaviour approach, utilising appropriate interventions and engagement to address behaviour at the earliest opportunity. This includes words of advice, warning letters, visits to parents and guardians where appropriate, and the consideration of further enforcement powers where behaviour persists.
The Beat Team will continue to maintain a visible presence within Bishopdale, monitor the situation closely and work with residents and partner agencies to address both the parking concerns and reports of anti-social behaviour. The aim remains to improve the quality of life for local residents, reduce nuisance behaviour and ensure the area remains a safe and welcoming place for the community.

    YOU SAID.
We have received concerns from retailers and Security at the Beaumont Leys Shopping centre that there is still a significant problem with Anti-social Behaviour caused by youths

    Wedi'i roi 01 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Beat surgeries have been conducted at Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre, providing officers with the opportunity to engage with local businesses and members of the public regarding issues affecting the area. These events proved productive, offering valuable insight into current community concerns whilst maintaining a visible and reassuring policing presence.
A multi-agency meeting was also held involving Leicester City Council, Beaumont Shopping Centre management, and representatives from the neighbourhood policing team to discuss those young people linked to recent incidents of anti-social behaviour. A joint approach was agreed, focusing on the individuals causing the greatest concern and developing longer-term solutions to address their behaviour.
Follow-up action has since been undertaken, with officers conducting visits to two of the young people identified. Both were given words of advice and warned regarding their behaviour. Further visits are planned, alongside the exploration of alternative provisions and diversionary activities aimed at preventing young people from becoming involved in anti-social behaviour and encouraging positive engagement within the community.
In addition, officers have arrested several suspects for a range of offences. One prolific juvenile offender has been charged with multiple offences committed at the shopping centre. The court has released him on strict bail conditions designed to prevent further offending at the location.

Residents are concerned over an increase in Drug dealing and the targeting of vulnerable people in the Area of Grassington Close,
A number of properties have been taken over and "Cuckooed"
    Which has raised safeguarding concerns.

    Wedi'i roi 01 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

The Beat Team has been working closely with Leicester City Council and partner agencies to safeguard two vulnerable adults who have been identified as being at risk within the community. This has involved a coordinated multi-agency approach to ensure appropriate support, intervention and protection measures are in place.
Officers have conducted regular welfare visits to both individuals, providing reassurance, monitoring any ongoing concerns and maintaining engagement with those involved in their care and support. These visits have enabled officers to build a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding each case and ensure that any emerging risks are identified and addressed promptly.
As a result of concerns identified during the safeguarding process, two separate arrests have been made. The arrests demonstrate the proactive action taken by officers to investigate offences and protect those who may be vulnerable to harm, exploitation or intimidation.
Both suspects have been released on bail whilst enquiries continue. However, strict bail conditions have been imposed to minimise the risk of further offending and to provide additional safeguards for the vulnerable adults involved. These conditions place restrictions on the suspects; behaviour and interactions, reducing opportunities for further contact or interference and reinforcing the wider safeguarding measures already in place.
The Beat Team will continue to work alongside Leicester City Council and partner agencies to monitor the situation closely, carry out further welfare visits where appropriate and ensure that both vulnerable adults receive ongoing support and protection. This collaborative approach remains focused on reducing risk, promoting wellbeing and ensuring that any concerns are dealt with swiftly and effectively.
