We have continued both high-visibility and plain clothes patrols in vehicles and on foot to address road safety concerns in the Mill Hill area. This has included seizing illegal e-scooters, taking action against drivers who break road traffic laws and, where necessary, seizing vehicles.

Over the last few months, officers have also carried out targeted road safety checks, stopping vehicles to make sure drivers are safe to drive, that vehicles are roadworthy, and that the correct documents are in place. Where appropriate, drivers have also been tested for alcohol and drugs.

We encourage anyone with information about those contributing to these issues, to contact Kent Police or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.

    Wedi'i roi 14 Ebrill 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

We have carried out dedicated ‘action days’ to deal with illegal e-scooters, with officers out in the area to take action where needed. The number of e-scooters being used illegally is starting to reduce, as more people understand that they are not legal to use on public roads unless strict requirements are met, such as having a driving licence, insurance, road tax and a registration plate, which most private e-scooters do not have.

Where possible, officers will speak with riders to raise awareness, but e-scooters used illegally may be seized. Once seized, they cannot be returned and are usually destroyed. There have been several occasions in the Mill Hill area where e-scooters have been seized after being used in an antisocial way, and riders may also face penalty points on their driving licence.

We encourage anyone with information about this issue, to contact Kent Police or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.

    Vehicle crime.

    Wedi'i roi 14 Ebrill 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Over recent months, there have been reports of a man entering unlocked vehicles in Deal during the night and stealing items left inside. In every case, the vehicles were not locked. There is no evidence that tools were used to gain access, so it is important to make sure your vehicle is always securely locked to help prevent this type of crime.

Following enquiries, the person responsible has been identified and brought before the courts where they been sentenced to 22 weeks in prison for a number of offences. A Criminal Behaviour Order, which is a court order to restrict and prevent further offending, is also being considered.

We encourage everyone to report crime as soon as possible, as the information you provide may help ongoing investigations. You can also find advice on how to protect yourself and your property on the Kent Police crime prevention page. If you have information about this type of activity, please contact Kent Police or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
