There have been ongoing concerns regarding vehicles parking irresponsibly outside schools during drop-off and pick-up times, creating safety risks for pupils, pedestrians, and other road users. In response, joint patrols have been carried out with council parking enforcement officers during peak times, alongside continued engagement with school working groups to promote awareness and encourage safer parking behaviour. These have continued at the beginning of September on the reopening of school.

      Positive outcomes:
These coordinated efforts have led to an improvement in driver behaviour, with fewer reports of dangerous parking at key times. Increased enforcement activity has resulted in drivers being more mindful of restrictions, while ongoing engagement with schools has strengthened long-term education around road safety. Feedback from schools and parents indicates a safer environment for pupils arriving and leaving school.

    2. Illegal Parking Near Mosque – Kensington Street

Concerns were raised by mosque representatives regarding illegal parking during prayer times, particularly a caravan obstructing Kensington Street and causing access issues. Patrols have been conducted during peak prayer times, with enforcement action taken where necessary, including the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices. Liaison with Bradford Council Parking Enforcement has also taken place to address the removal of the caravan if it is not moved voluntarily. Engagement with mosque leaders has been maintained, alongside the use of social media and leaflets to raise awareness of parking regulations.
      Positive outcomes:
As a result of these actions, obstruction on Kensington Street has reduced, improving access and safety for local residents and worshippers. Increased visibility of enforcement has encouraged greater compliance from drivers, and ongoing communication with mosque representatives has strengthened community relationships. Awareness campaigns have helped reinforce expectations, leading to a more considerate approach to parking during busy periods.
