We are responding to community concerns linked to drug and alcohol related anti social behaviour in the ward. Over the last month we are aware of reports of drug dealing taking place from residential properties in and around the Fraser Street and London Road areas.

We continue to work closely with a range of partner organisations to address this community priority and tackle the issues affecting the area. This includes Housing Solutions, Housing Associations, Liverpool City Council, The Whitechapel Centre, local hostels and a number of support agencies. By working together, we aim to reduce anti-social behaviour associated with individuals living in or visiting the area, while ensuring that those who require support are able to access the services available to them.
Throughout July, officers have supported a multi-agency approach alongside Liverpool City Council's Street Cleansing teams to improve the environment and appearance of the area. Regular cleansing operations have been carried out to address concerns raised by residents and businesses and help create a cleaner, safer environment for everyone.
As part of our ongoing efforts to address anti-social behaviour, officers are currently in the process of serving a number of Community Protection Warnings on individuals identified as being responsible for persistent anti-social behaviour in the area. These warnings form part of a wider problem-solving approach and can lead to further enforcement action where necessary.
Officers continue to carry out regular high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols, engaging with residents, businesses and community leaders to better understand local concerns and gather valuable intelligence. This activity has led to a number of proactive arrests in the area for drug supply offences, demonstrating our commitment to tackling criminality and disrupting those responsible for causing harm within the community.
On Friday 31 July 2026, a multi-agency Day of Action was held involving Merseyside Police, several departments from Liverpool City Council, The Whitechapel Centre and a range of partner support agencies. The operation focused on addressing anti-social behaviour, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, improving the local environment and providing support to those in need. This collaborative approach highlights our shared commitment to delivering long-term solutions to the issues impacting the area.
We are also aware of the impact that acquisitive crime can have on local businesses, particularly offences committed to fund drug dependency. To help address this, funding was secured for a Safer Pod which has been installed at businesses most affected by offending. The initiative has proven successful, providing a visible deterrent and contributing towards a reduction in crime.
Alongside enforcement activity, we continue to support local initiatives aimed at tackling the root causes of offending. One such project involves the use of community art to encourage individuals experiencing addiction and other vulnerabilities to engage positively with support services and make sustainable lifestyle changes.
Information from residents, businesses and community representatives remains vital in helping us identify those responsible for crime and anti-social behaviour. We continue to work with our partners, schools and other local organisations to gather intelligence, respond to concerns and utilise appropriate legal powers where required, including taking action to prevent persistent offenders from frequenting the area.
If you know where drug dealing is taking place, you can report it anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or online at: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/pre-form
Incidents can be reported to Merseyside Police by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency. Reports can also be made online or by visiting a General Enquiry Office at Admiral Street or St Anne Street Police Station.
