Addressing persistent and repeat crime, particularly ASB,
remains a key Neighbourhood Policing priority in North Devon,
consistently highlighted through surveys and community engagement.
Local policing teams work closely with North Devon District
Council and partners to tackle issues, making it vital for residents
to report concerns directly to Devon & Cornwall Police
    online or to the Council

Over the last few months, we have continued to work closely with our partners at North Devon District Council to address issues that have been causing concern within our local communities.

This collaborative approach has resulted in the issuance of a number of Community Protection Warnings to individuals whose behaviour has had a negative impact on others. Where advice and opportunities to change behaviour have not been heeded, we have also progressed to issuing Community Protection Notices as an appropriate means of addressing ongoing issues.

We remain committed to working with residents who are experiencing anti-social behaviour and will continue to use the wide range of tools and powers available to us, alongside our partner agencies, to resolve concerns, protect vulnerable individuals and improve the quality of life within our communities.

  • Blaenoriaeth:

Addressing the use, possession and supply of controlled substances (drugs) across North Devon remains our local Neighbourhood policing priority. This aspect featured highly amongst recent surveys and through our interactions with community members and parish and district councils colleagues.

The local policing teams across North Devon rely heavily on information being shared by local residents and community members in regards to drug use, possession and supply. This enables an enriched picture to inform local officers and patrols to identify, detect and disrupt such activity. Therefore if you become aware or observe information relating to drug usage, please contact either D&C Police online or consider contacting Crimestoppers (0800 555 111) who offer an anonymous reporting process.

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Addressing the use, possession and supply of controlled drugs remains a key priority for our Neighbourhood Policing Teams across North Devon, and we continue to work closely with local communities, partner organisations and other agencies to tackle the harm that drugs can cause.

Information provided by residents, businesses, community groups and partner agencies is vital in helping us build an accurate picture of drug-related activity across our towns and villages. This intelligence allows officers to identify locations of concern, target patrols effectively and take action against those involved in criminality.

Alongside enforcement activity, we continue to work with partners to identify and support vulnerable individuals within our communities who may be affected by substance misuse, exploitation or other related harms. By working together, we can ensure that those in need of support are directed towards the appropriate services while also addressing the root causes of offending and anti-social behaviour.

We also continue to engage with individuals whose behaviour is having a negative impact on our communities. There are a range of options available to us to address such issues, including education, intervention and enforcement measures. Where appropriate, we can utilise a variety of disposals, including Out of Court Resolutions and other proportionate interventions, as well as pursuing criminal proceedings when necessary.

We encourage anyone who has information relating to drug use, possession or dealing to report it. Information can be shared directly with Devon & Cornwall Police through our website or by calling 101. Alternatively, reports can be made anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The continued support of our communities is invaluable. By sharing information and working together, we can protect vulnerable people, disrupt those causing harm and make North Devon a safer place for everyone.

  • Blaenoriaeth:

Enhancing neighbourhood policing engagement across Devon & Cornwall remains a key priority, with a focus on building trust, improving communication, and strengthening relationships with local communities. Through regular engagement, partnership working, and visible policing, we aim to better understand local concerns and encourage residents to share information, ensuring policing activity reflects and responds to the needs of the communities we serve.

Further dates for where you can meet the team and I are now published for the rest of the year, we will continue to attend events and hold specific prevention days throughout the year, this will be advertised via Community Messenger as and when they become available.
