    Burglary

Recent intelligence, crime reports, and predictive mapping have identified burglary hotspots across the Pinner Ward.
Community concerns highlight the need for increased visibility, reassurance, and proactive prevention to reduce opportunities for offending.

Predictive crime mapping identifies specific streets and clusters where burglaries are most likely to occur. Timing analysis suggests that burglaries tend to occur during windows of reduced occupancy, highlighting the need for targeted patrol times.

Victim feedback indicates gaps in household security, showing the value of crime prevention messaging and direct engagement.
Intelligence links offenders to opportunistic behaviour rather than targeted, organised burglary, supporting the use of high‑visibility deterrent patrols.
Community engagement data supports broad communication across the ward to increase residents’ awareness and resilience.

    Camau a gymerwyd:

To target burglaries officers are deployed to conduct high‑visibility patrols in predictive crime mapping locations to increase deterrence and reassure residents. Conduct targeted patrols in identified hotspot areas across the Pinner Ward, informed by predictive mapping and intelligence.
Provide crime prevention advice to all burglary victims and follow‑up reassurance.
Disseminate crime prevention messages via Met Engage to ensure wide community reach, improving household security awareness and reducing vulnerability.
Maintain flexible deployment to allow officers to respond dynamically to emerging hotspots.

Monitor burglary rates will be monitored using crime data, predictive mapping outputs, and intelligence submissions.
We will evaluate the impact of patrol activity by comparing burglary levels before and after interventions.
Reviewing community feedback, particularly from victims and hotspot residents, to assess whether reassurance levels have improved.
Adjusting patrol plans, crime prevention activity, and communication strategies based on ongoing data to ensure continued reduction in burglary risk.

    Anti-Social Behaviour
Intelligence and community feedback have identified persistent ASB across key hotspot locations in Pinner .
Reports identify, nuisance behaviour, and community concerns about public safety and environmental impact.

ASB involves mixed behavioural issues (loitering, noise, nuisance groups, minor disorder), requiring flexible officer deployment.
Peak times and offender profiles indicate the value of both high‑visibility patrols and plain‑clothes proactive work.
Local businesses on Pinner Road have raised concerns, indicating need for regular engagement and reassurance policing.
Partnership information from Harrow Council supports a joint approach, especially regarding environmental ASB and community impact.

    Wedi'i roi 14 Ebrill 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Pinner local policing teams response to this ward priority includes; Intelligence‑led deployment plans directing officers to hotspot locations, including a mixture of uniformed and plain‑clothes patrols to deter and detect ASB‑related behaviour.

Utilising the use of ASB warnings and punitive measures where appropriate, ensuring a robust approach to offenders.
High‑visibility patrols on Pinner Road with officer engagement in local shops to build trust and gather further intelligence.
Targeted patrols focusing on known times of increased ASB.
Joint partnership working with Harrow Council to support environmental improvements, monitor hotspots, and coordinate interventions.

This response will continuingly be assessed through intelligence reports, crime trends and feedback from residents and businesses. Overall success to be measured by; Reduction in ASB reports in hotspot areas, Improved community satisfaction and confidence and increased compliance from repeat ASB subjects.

    Theft - Shoplifting
Reports and intelligence highlight ongoing shoplifting issues across retail locations in the Pinner Ward.
Several shops have identified repeat, prolific offenders who are responsible for multiple thefts.
The problem impacts business confidence, community perceptions of safety, and increases demand for police attendance.

Intelligence shows that a small number of prolific offenders are responsible for a significant proportion of shoplifting offences.
Retail premises with limited security measures or inconsistent reporting practices are more frequently targeted.
Engagement with shop staff indicates that crime prevention awareness and structured reporting could be improved.
Patterns suggest offenders operate both opportunistically and through repeat targeting of known premises.
Analysis supports the use of mixed‑approach patrols (high‑visibility for deterrence and plain‑clothes for detection).

    Wedi'i roi 14 Ebrill 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

The Pinner team have been conducting a targeted approach to shoplifting, running operation Auralith which is a targeted operation focussed on shoplifting. Specifically working towards identifying and apprehending prolific offenders and providing crime prevention advice to repeat victims.
The operation aims to target and disrupt prolific shoplifting offenders across North Harrow through intelligence‑led patrol activity, deploying officers in both high‑visibility and plain‑clothes patrols to deter offenders and identify those responsible for continued theft.
Engaging directly with shop staff and security teams to deliver crime prevention advice, reinforce best practice, and encourage consistent reporting.

Throughout the operation the team will, monitor shoplifting levels through recorded crime data, crime reports, and intelligence submissions from officers and retailers. Assess whether engagement with shop staff has increased reporting rates and improved prevention measures.
Review the effectiveness of patrols by evaluating detections, stop/search activity, and reduction in repeat targeting of the same premises.
Evaluate the identification and disruption of prolific offenders and the impact this has on overall theft levels.
Use ongoing intelligence and feedback from retailers to adjust the policing approach and ensure continued reduction in shoplifting.
