Being a predominantly retail environment, we suffer from a high-level of shop theft. Alongside the thefts businesses also suffer with ASB linked to this activity.

We’re taking a proactive and visible approach to tackling shoplifting in Broadmead. This includes regular high‑visibility patrols in key retail areas, working closely with shop staff and security teams to share real‑time intelligence, and targeting known offenders through partnership operations. We’re also encouraging businesses to report all incidents so we can identify patterns and respond quickly. By combining prevention, partnership, and enforcement, we’re aiming to reduce thefts and create a safer, more confident shopping environment for everyone.

    Walk And Talk

Avon and Somerset Police are inviting women to meet with female police officers and PCSOs to show them areas in which they feel vulnerable or unsafe in their local communities.

Walk and Talks are open to women aged 18 and above who wish to share their worries or concerns regarding their safety in the local area with officers.

    What to expect

    • You will be paired with a female police officer or PCSO
    • The walks will take place at a mutually convenient time for you
    • They will last around 30 minutes
    • They will be tailored to the areas you wish to address or discuss
This is an opportunity to raise any worries or concerns over your safety in your local area so the police, along with partner agencies, can see what they can do to improve women’s safety on our streets. You can register for a visit by filling out our Walk and Talk form. Once we have received the form, a member of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team will contact you to arrange a convenient time. Currently, this initiative is taking place in most parts of Avon and Somerset. However, we hope to roll it out to all areas of our force in the near future. If you are interested in having Walk and Talks in your area and it is not listed above, email [email protected] to register your interest.

We’ve seen an increase in anti‑social behaviour and some vehicle‑related crime in several city‑centre car parks. This can affect how safe people feel when parking or walking through these areas.

    Wedi'i roi 12 Mehefin 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Our Neighbourhood Policing Team is working with site operators and local support services to improve safety, deter offending and support vulnerable individuals. We’ll continue to monitor these locations and take action to keep city‑centre car parks safe for everyone.
