City South Priorities - April - July Inclusive

    City South Priorities

Through analysis of crime, consultation with partners in our Multi agency Problem Solving meeting, the PCC crime survey and feedback from our community.

we have identified the following policing priorities for the next three months.

These priorities do not replace those local priorities raised at community meetings. The priorities are reviewed monthly and reviewed quarterly. The City South areas have such different demographics each area has its own issues and problems therefore in order to capture all the elements raised the priorities are deliberately non-specific to ensure they remain relevant to all.

    Acquisitive Crime

Acquisitive Crime to include burglary, robbery, Vehicle crime and retail crime is on the increase and therefore need to make it a priority for the next three months Carry on identifying serial offenders, whilst focusing on repeat offenders and hot spot areas as early as possible to ensure we maximize opportunities of prosecutions, which ultimately leads to victims getting positive resolutions.

    Antisocial Behaviour

Having consulted with counsellors and key individuals in your communities, I have identified that a number of significant issues are taking place in your areas, that comes under the heading of antisocial Behaviour.
You have told us that antisocial driving and speeding is a concern, specifically car cruising is effecting you feeling safe in your community
Given the broad nature of this heading it gives me and my team the opportunity to focus our efforts on particular areas in each of your communities and is why ASB will be a priority for the wards of City South for the next three months.
    Drugs & Drug Dealing

Drugs continue to be a priority as it is intrinsically linked with many other crimes and taking a strong approach to drugs impacts on other areas.
The City South will carry on targeting drug offenders in the bid to hopefully send out a message that this kind of activity will not be tolerated.
Our neighbourhood teams have been consistent in our approach of taking positive action relating to intelligence received and acting on information that comes from within our communities.
We have continued to execute numerous drug warrants across the area and have recovered significant quantities of drugs from circulation in our communities.
Arrests have been made investigations are ongoing to ensure the appropriate action is taking by working with our partners in The City council by looking at appropriate closure orders and other punitive sanctions
We have targeted vehicles used by those involved in the distribution of drugs to make it difficult to engage in this activity on the City South area.

Our three priorities are there to ensure you feel and are safe why being in our area, we will continue to fight crime and listen to you and understand what is needed with you to make sure that you feel safe and improve your confidence in our ability to deal with your concerns, providing an excellent service, which we deliver with pride compassion and integrity.

    ity South Neighbourhood Policing
    Community Update – July 2026

Policing is, at its heart, about public service. It is about people — listening to concerns, understanding what matters most to our communities, and working tirelessly to deliver safer neighbourhoods.
I am incredibly proud to lead teams across City South who are committed not only to reducing crime, but to building trust and confidence in policing. We recognise that trust is earned through our actions: by listening, by being visible, and by delivering meaningful outcomes for victims.
Listening to the public is central to everything we do. Your concerns, your experiences, and your expectations shape our priorities. By working together, we are creating safer neighbourhoods and stronger relationships built on trust, openness, and action.
Over the last month, your City South Neighbourhood Policing Team has continued to focus on the issues that matter most to local residents: tackling acquisitive crime, reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB), and disrupting drug-related activity. Alongside this, officers have been carrying out community engagement, problem-solving initiatives and targeted patrols across our neighbourhoods. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]
    Crime Overview
There have been some positive reductions in key crime types across the City South area during June:

Burglary reduced from 23 offences to 17 offences (-6).
Robbery reduced from 18 offences to 10 offences (-8).
Vehicle crime reduced from 55 offences to 51 offences (-4).
Retail crime remained broadly stable, reducing slightly from 83 to 82 offences. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]

While there has been an overall reduction in several crime categories, we continue to see increases in some areas of the City South policing area. Year-to-date figures show crime reductions in Clifton, while increases remain a concern in Mapperley & The Wells, Meadows, Sneinton & Dales, and St Ann's. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]
    Area Updates
    Clifton
Officers continue to target anti-social behaviour, vehicle crime and retail crime through hotspot patrols and partnership working.
    Current priorities include:

The tram network and park and ride facilities, where patrols are addressing ASB and criminal damage.
Silverdale, where increased overnight patrols are tackling vehicle crime.
Southchurch shops and Clifton Library, focusing on retail crime and ASB.
The Nobel Road estate, where officers are targeting reports of ASB and suspected drug dealing.

Retail crime has reduced at several key locations, including Morrisons Green Lane and Co-op Southchurch Drive. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]
    Mapperley & The Wells
Teams are maintaining a visible presence in known hotspot locations, including:

Tavistock Court, where officers are tackling ASB, drug-related issues and associated vulnerability.
Mechanics House and Playworks, where incidents of ASB and violence remain a focus.
Trent House, where proactive offender management activity continues, including warrant executions and recalls. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]

    Meadows
Work continues with retailers and partners to reduce shop theft across:

    Castle Marina Retail Park
    Queens Drive Retail Park
    The Bridgeway Centre

Patrols are being targeted at repeat offending locations, alongside engagement with businesses to improve prevention and reporting. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]
    Sneinton & Dales
    Priority activity has focused on:

The Co-op on Sneinton Dale, a repeat shop theft location.
Little Tennis Street and surrounding areas, where thefts from motor vehicles have been reported.

Additional overt and covert patrols have been implemented, public awareness messages have been issued, and specialist resources deployed to deter and detect offenders. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]
    St Ann's
Officers continue to tackle ASB and drug-related activity at several key locations:

The Chase – ongoing patrols to address anti-social behaviour.
One Stop, St Ann's Wells Road – targeted operational activity and partnership work to address persistent ASB.
Victoria Park and St Mary's Rest Garden – intelligence-led activity targeting drug dealing, including problem-solving plans, warrant activity and disruption operations. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]

    Working with Our Communities
Community engagement remains at the heart of neighbourhood policing. Over the coming weeks officers will continue attending community events, drop-in sessions, surgeries and meetings to ensure residents have opportunities to raise concerns and help shape local policing priorities. Engagement with vulnerable communities, asylum seekers and refugees also continues across the City South area. [City South...mance June | PowerPoint]
    Thank You
Thank you to everyone who continues to report concerns, provide information and work with us to make our neighbourhoods safer. Your information helps us target resources where they are needed most and supports ongoing work to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour across City South.
