You Said – Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) around local parks and streets in Burbage is a cause for concern, you noted incidents of cannabis/drug use, assault, bullying, criminal damage and general rowdiness. Concerns are that with the Easter holidays and other school breaks approaching young people will have more time on their hands and the warmer weather and lighter nights will encourage more people out that is likely to lead to wider ASB issues.

We Did – We have recognised the concerns of the community and have made it our priority to tackle this issue. We have lots planned on the run up to the Easter break which will include assemblies to be held at Hastings High School discussing what ASB, the impact it has on the community and the consequences if caught by police. We would encourage local residents to report issues to us and share information and CCTV, we have an excellent information sharing system with the school that will continue over the holidays and enables prompt identification of perpetrators. Over the coming weeks, we intend to increase our patrols in the area, use social media to engage with the community on this issue and actively target individuals identified as being involved.

April - A couple of reports of youth related issues over the Easter break. These issues include trespass, Cannabis, Alcohol and loud music on Hinckley road park and fields by the Outwoods. We are working with residents and completing patrols. We have also received reports of knock door run where the situations became targeted and caused considerable concern. We identified and dealt with 11 youths by completing home visits, speaking to parents and using the anti-social behaviour incremental approach to manage behaviour going forward. We have also been completing anti-social behaviour assemblies in school where we spoke to year groups 7,8 and 9. We hope this work ensures that all children are aware of the impacts and consequences of bad behaviour, whilst out and about as we approach the May and summer holidays.

May - With the better weather, we have seen an increase in groups of youths and public out and about (Pubs etc). We have engaged with youths at local parks whilst on patrol. We have suffered a spate of Graffiti towards the bottom and middle areas of Burbage. Two persons identified and 0ne arrested. We have also dealt with isolated incidents where home visits have been completed. Other work includes neighbour disputes and drug dealing. Several arrests made.

June - Several reports of off-road bikes around the Rugby Road/Brookside area, we are completing patrols to try and identify those involved. There are also concerns relating to the behaviour of younger people leaving pubs and vehicle related nuisance. We are completing work which includes CCTV and patrols, to identify anyone who is visiting the area to cause issues to local residents.

  • Blaenoriaeth:

You Said – Burglaries of homes, continue to be a concern in the area this coupled with the fact that Easter and Spring half term will see people going away leaving their homes empty and an opportunity for criminals to take advantage presents a real risk for our community.

    Wedi'i roi 01 Ebrill 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

We Did – Residential Burglaries will remain a priority for the next 3 months. Your local community team will be working hard to raise awareness with residents on the need to take steps prior to holidays to ensure your home appears lived in. The use of light times and support from friends and neighbours to ensure telltale signs like bins being left out for protracted periods or post building up are not an invitation to criminals to take advantage.

Where offences are reported local officers will work closely with the detectives to ensure that community intelligence and CCTV opportunities are maximised to provide the greatest opportunities of identifying the offenders.

We will ensure that our patrol plan ensures that officers patrol the right places at the right time maximising our opportunities to disrupt and catch offenders.

April - Two reports of residential burglary during the day (13:00) at addresses on Sketchley road and School close on the 9th. Jewellery and a vehicle targeted. Work ongoing to identify those involved, appeals made and awareness raised through social media.
No further reports until 2 addresses were targeted on Victoria Road towards the end of April. Back patio doors smashed and again, cash and jewellery targeted whilst residents were not present.

May - At time of writing, no reports of residential burglary. We continue to offer crime reduction support, raise awareness and respond to reports of suspicious activity. Multiple stop searches completed where a quantity of Class A drugs have been seized by officers patrolling the area,

June - Report received that between the 17th and 29th of May, a property was targeted where items such as jewellery and cash were taken. We continue to raise awareness and offer crime reduction support. The other two reports we received were vehicle related where the home was broken into to get vehicle keys. We have been completing some extensive work in these areas and supporting residents with crime reduction items.

You Said – Theft of tools from vans and theft of high powered/high end motor cars are crimes that our community have raised as a continued concern. As the weather improves, windows being left open present opportunities.

    Wedi'i roi 01 Ebrill 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

We Did – Over the coming months we seek to increase awareness across the community of things they can do or consider to prevent them becoming a victim of this type of crime, this will include several social media messages and crime safety events being held across the beat. Our patrols targeting this type of offending will continue and where offences occur, local officers will seek to support the investigators by visiting the areas and looking at CCTV and other evidential opportunities to maximise the likelihood of identifying an offender.

April - A VW Tiguan and a VW Golf stolen from Sketchley Road and School close at the end of March and middle of April, one as a result of a residential burglary. No further reports as of time of writing.

May - No reports of theft from or of vehicle. We continue to offer crime reduction support to residents, including our regular beat surgeries and attending events such as the Burbage Inf/Jnr spring fair. Reminders around home and vehicle security sent out on neighbourhood link/Facebook. Patrols ongoing where stop checks and searches have been completed. One report of a theft of a VW Golf from a delivery driver. We remind people to NOT leave keys in vehicles, even if you are just leaving the vehicle for a few moments. We have supported residents with RFID wallets following a few reports of suspicious activity in the area.

June - Report of a theft of a BMW X3 from the Garden Close area. Appears to be a keyless theft. Please ensure you use RFID wallets and fit a steering lock. A further report from Crownhill Road of a BMW being taken. We are completing work around CCTV and crime reduction support as well as targeted patrols in the areas affected.
