Addressing persistent and repeat crime, ASB across North Devon remains our local Neighbourhood policing priority. This aspect featured highly amongst recent surveys and through our interactions with community members and parish and district councils colleagues.

The local policing teams across North Devon work in partnership with NDDC colleagues and other local partners to identify and tackle ASB issues, therefore it is imperative for local residents and communities to report matters that are having a detrimental impact locally. These can either be reported directly to D&C Police online or to North Devon District Council.

    Camau a gymerwyd:

As a team, we continue to monitor reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) across the South Molton area. At present, the data does not indicate any significant emerging trends or increasing areas of concern. However, I remain aware that anti-social behaviour is often underreported, which can make it difficult for us to fully understand the issues affecting our communities.
I would therefore encourage anyone experiencing or witnessing anti-social behaviour to report it to the police and seek our support. Without reports and information from the public, it is challenging for us to build an accurate picture of what is happening and to direct our resources effectively to those who need our assistance most.
We continue to conduct high-visibility patrols across the area, focusing on locations where concerns have been identified or where community feedback suggests issues may be developing. One such area is currently Witheridge, where we have received information regarding young people causing disruption within the village. While these matters are not always being reported directly to the police, we are aware of the concerns being raised and will continue to patrol the area to provide reassurance, deter anti-social behaviour, and take action where appropriate.
There are a range of measures available to us when dealing with anti-social behaviour. These can range from early intervention and warning letters to parents or guardians, through to more formal enforcement options, including arrest, civil injunctions, or other legal sanctions where necessary.
I would also encourage parents and guardians to take an active interest in where their children are, who they are spending time with, and what activities they are involved in. By working together, we can help prevent anti-social behaviour from occurring and ensure our communities remain safe and welcoming places for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

  • Blaenoriaeth:

Addressing the use, possession and supply of controlled substances (drugs) across North Devon remains our local Neighbourhood policing priority. This aspect featured highly amongst recent surveys and through our interactions with community members and parish and district councils colleagues.

The local policing teams across North Devon rely heavily on information being shared by local residents and community members in regards to drug use, possession and supply. This enables an enriched picture to inform local officers and patrols to identify, detect and disrupt such activity. Therefore if you become aware or observe information relating to drug usage, please contact either D&C Police online or consider contacting Crimestoppers (0800 555 111) who offer an anonymous reporting process.

    Wedi'i roi 01 Mehefin 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

As a Neighbourhood Team, we remain committed to acting on information received regarding suspected drug-related activity within our communities and addressing those whose actions negatively impact the quality of life of local residents. This priority will continue to be a key focus over the coming months, with our efforts centred on assessing and developing intelligence to ensure that our resources are targeted where they will have the greatest impact.

I would continue to encourage anyone with information or intelligence to share it with us through Crimestoppers, by calling 101, or via the online reporting channels. The more information we receive, the stronger our evidential picture becomes, increasing our ability to take positive action, including applying for warrants where appropriate.

I am grateful for the continued patience, support and understanding shown by our communities in relation to our response to crime and anti-social behaviour. Your information and engagement remain invaluable in helping us keep our neighbourhoods safe.

I will continue to publish dates throughout the year detailing when and where the team will be available, providing opportunities for you to meet with us and discuss any concerns you may have.

I encourage you to take the opportunity to attend and speak with us. If you are unable to make a scheduled date, or if you feel it would be beneficial for us to visit your area, please let me know. I will be happy to consider what arrangements can be made to best meet the needs of your community.
