Tackling ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) with E-Bikes.

    Location:
    Throughout Blandford.

    Issue:
ASB riding of some E-bikes is causing significant concern to the public and intimidation.

Planned action to tackle this issue:
    - We will engage with the public to try and reassure, whilst also trying to identify offenders,
    - We will complete hotspot patrols,
    - We will utilise local CCTV,
    - We will use proactive policing powers and where possible seize bikes.

    Wedi'i roi 01 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

    August Update:
    - Officers continue to carry out proactive patrols in areas where issues have been reported. Whilst e-bikes have been observed in the area, none have been witnessed being used illegally while officers have been on patrol.
    - The neighbourhood policing team is regularly engaging with young people and providing education around the legal requirements relating to e-bikes and e-scooters. Officers are highlighting the risks associated with illegal use, including the potential for vehicles to be seized and for riders to face prosecution where offences are identified.
    - Officers are also fully aware of the revised Section 59 powers and will utilise appropriate warnings and enforcement action where anti-social or careless use is identified.
-Following reports of anti-social behaviour in Charlton Marshall and Blandford, officers successfully traced, located and seized an e-scooter linked to the incidents. The vehicle is due to be destroyed. This action demonstrates our ongoing commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour, and further work will continue to identify those responsible and seize offending vehicles whenever opportunities arise.
    - High-visibility patrols and community engagement will continue, with the aim of reducing anti-social behaviour, improving road safety and providing reassurance to local residents.

    July Update:
This problem persists and with summer upon us we are aware that the problem is unlikely to improve without continued work, therefore this priority has been reissued and work will continue to tackle ASB in the area over the upcoming summer months.

    June Update:

    - Officers have been targeting known youths and areas with hi-visibility proactive patrols within the town,
    - CCTV is under regular review to identify offences and those involved

Drug Related Violent Crime and Intimidation.

    Location:
    Blandford.

    Issue:
Violent crime and damage has occurred recently in the town which is strongly believed to be linked with local drug dealing. These crimes have significantly impacted the wider community who are not involved in such activity.

Planned action to tackle this issue:
    - We will develop intelligence,
    - We will engage with the public and reassure,
    - We will complete high visibility patrols and proactive use of police powers.
    - We will work with partners on civil legislation to maximise impact.

    Wedi'i roi 01 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

    August Update:
    - Work continues to address recent incidents of violent crime and criminal damage in the town which are believed to be linked to local drug dealing activity.
    - A Closure Order application is due to be heard at court on 24 August, as part of ongoing partnership efforts to tackle locations associated with criminality and anti-social behaviour.
    - A key individual linked to local concerns is now serving a prison sentence, reducing their ability to cause harm within the community.
    - Officers continue to carry out safe and well checks with vulnerable individuals and those affected by drug-related activity, ensuring appropriate support and safeguarding measures remain in place.
    - We are actively submitting and developing intelligence as information is received, helping to build a clearer picture of those involved and support ongoing enforcement activity.
    - In addition, officers have maintained high-visibility patrols in affected areas to provide reassurance to the wider community, deter criminal behaviour and encourage the reporting of information.

    July Update:
    - Whilst positive progress has taken place and some remanded in prison, this is a complex issues which requires continued intervention, therefore, this priority has been reissued and work will continue to tackle this issue in the area over the upcoming summer months.

    June Update:

    - Police have arrested 4x people in relation to associated violence within the town,
    - We are working with partners to support ASB and housing legislation,
    - We have safeguarded children with association to a group,
    - We have completed hi-visibility patrols,
    - We continue to develop intelligence on this topic.
