    OFF ROAD MOTORCYCLES

    Wedi'i roi 21 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

We have 12 x Off-road bike operations in conjunction with the MARCT team, between June and October. We have already seized numerous motorbikes and e-bikes from operations over the last few weeks.

We are aware of a number of ongoing concerns with regards to the use of Off Road Motorcycles.

The team have been conducting patrols in various wards across our area to target this problem and provide reassurance.

We have also developed solid working relationships with our SYP colleagues in the Motorcycle and Rural Crime Team (MaRCT) who have been in and around the Rotherham South area, themselves conducting patrols, engaging with land owners and taking proactive actions to seize vehicles being used in an anti-social manner. We have experienced a recent success in the identification and subsequent recovery of stolen bikes and other vehicles with offenders identified and being summonsed to Court.

Recently we have refreshed visits to garage forecourts to gather intelligence and request that premises do not provide the fuel. You may have also seen other leaflets requesting information about who owns these bikes and where they are kept. Please keep reporting this information via 101 or Crimestoppers.

We have forged good links with landowners to try and prevent land being used in the first place. This work continues and now links into our Rural Crime meetings, where we hold regular public meetings on this issue and also work closely with partners from the Council, Environment Agency, Fire Service, RSPCA to name a few.

Smaller operations in recent weeks have seen further quad bikes seized in North Anston, Maltby and Kiveton Park.

Anyone found with or using off road bikes unlawfully will be engaged with. They may have the bikes taken from them. We are working with partners at RMBC to look at tenancy enforcement should this behaviour be a breach of a tenancy agreement.

Please continue to report activity and more importantly report who owns these bikes and where they keep them so what can continue to focus our activity.

    ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

    Wedi'i roi 21 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

We regularly conduct joint patrols with RMBC for visibility and reassurance in the area. This also has a diversionary element to assist young people engage in better choices.

We take part in organised litter picks and liaison with RMBC and also recently with the fire cadets on Maltby 'Crags'.

We liaise with local housing providers to take action against tenants with youths who are perpetrators of ASB. Recently we have issued a number of Community Protection Warnings and notices to offenders for them to cease their behaviour, if this does not happen then they will likely go to court and end up with a substantial fine.

We use your calls to prioritise hotspot areas and rely on your support to target our activity.

Please report any issues via 101 as this really does help us to direct our resources in the best way.

POLICE AND PARTNERS TO WORK TOWARDS REDUCTION IN DWELLING, BUSINESS AND GARAGE BURGLARIES.

    Wedi'i roi 21 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Several high-profile individuals from the South have been arrested, charged and received substantial custodial sentences in the last few months.

There have been numerous engagement activities with the locality where advice is offered and practical measures such as faraday pouches being given out is completed. Please look for your next one locally and say hello to our staff.

We regularly utilise data to map hotspots and patrol those to maximise deterrence. A new area is now identified and we are working with detectives to formulate an operation to make that area safer. Watch this space.

A recent success came from Maltby High Street. A serious of commercial burglaries occurred and thanks to joint work with our Response Colleagues and CID department, a local Male was arrested, charged and remanded for numerous offences.

We know there is much more to do. Please give us any information you have no matter how small.
If you cannot make any of our events please take time to research keyless thefts in particular. This will help you to protect your homes.

Increased Anti Social Behaviour in and around the centre of Dinnington.

Public reporting via. both Police and Partners has highlighted an increase in ASB, particularly the antisocial use of electric and off-road bikes.
This has led to general nuisance around the market area, Tesco and Danis Diner.

    Wedi'i roi 21 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

South NPT have worked in conjunction with partners, particularly the Council StreetSafe teams and the Early Outreach teams.
The Council have deployed the CCTV van to identified hot-spot / repeat areas, at times identified as peak periods, by Police data and analysts.
The CCTV images generated, has led to the identification of dozens of individuals, following Officers attending local schools and liaising with staff. Officers have then utilised ASB powers, to deal with those identified, accordingly.
The areas identified have been embedded into Officers and PCSO's daily patrols and a more formal Operation KeepSafe was delivered in the area, in the last month.
The affected areas have been targeted hardened and preventative measures such as gates and fencing, have been used to stop Children accessing those areas.
As a result of all the work, reported ASB has declined, but we continue to monitor and deploy into the area.

    Camau wedi'u cymryd 21 Gorffennaf 2026

  • Blaenoriaeth:

Historically, during the warmer (Summer) months and particularly the School holiday period, there is an increase in activity around open-water across the force area but particularly in the South area that has an abundance of desirable locations.
Tragically, there have been numerous deaths of predominantly young people from drowning, both locally and nationally.
Open-water areas become an attractive focal point for young people, often accompanied by alcohol / drugs / NOS and this then often leads to an increase in ASB and littering particularly.

    Wedi'i roi 21 Gorffennaf 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Numerous Police operations have been scheduled for key dates, in conjunction with park Rangers (at Rother Valley Country Park) and the StreetSafe team.
High profile water safety events have also been planned, with SYFR and Sams Army.
South Officers continue to default to key open-water locations and support partners with reinforcing this key public safety issue.
