    Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) - South Woodford

    The ward priorities remain the same as discussed at the ward panel meeting on 4th March 2026. These will be discussed at the next ward panel meeting which will take place on 23rd June 2026.

    South Woodford have been working closely with surrounding wards as well as its residents and local agencies to tackle Violence against Women and Girls.
    Walk, Talk & Do's, Briefings, Stalls and patrols to be prioritised around George Lane and the London Underground Station.

    The ward priorities remain the same as discussed at the ward panel meeting on 4th March 2026. These will be discussed at the next ward panel meeting which will take place on 23rd June 2026.

    Carry out visible patrols for the local community, distributing VAWG leaflets, speaking with the local community. Proactive patrols to continue in and around the ward especially George Lane and the train station. Arrange VAWG engagements with the local agencies at Holy Trinity Church to hear concerns from Women in and around the South Woodford ward.

    A - Target areas of known offences and surrounding streets. High visibility patrols and partnership working.

    Motor Vehicle Crime

    This Ward Priority was discussed and set at the ward panel meeting on 4th March 2026. These will be discussed at the next ward panel meeting which will take place on 23rd June 2026.

    Residents have expressed concerns in regards to Theft of and Theft From Motor Vehicle Crime across South Woodford Ward.

    Albeit, the ratio of this crime has dropped, concerns have still been identified by the community on both Firs Estate and Nightingale Estate E18.

    Visible and plain clothes patrols will continue on both Firs Estate and Nightingale Estate.

    Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) GEORGE LANE/VIADUCT

    The ward priorities remain the same as discussed at the ward panel meeting on 4th March 2026. These will be discussed at the next ward panel meeting which will take place on 23rd June 2026.

    Dealing with consistent begging, shoplifting and street drinking occurring on and GEORGE LANE and the Viaduct (both sides of the station) and Firs Estate by liaising with local businesses and council enforcement to tackle this on-going problem.

    The ward priorities remain the same as discussed at the ward panel meeting on 4th March 2026. These will be discussed at the next ward panel meeting which will take place on 23rd June 2026.

    Visible patrols will continue on George Lane /viaduct to deter crime and alleviate fear of crime.

    ASB Notices issued to beggars and has seen significant reduction.

    Local businesses are liaised through communication platforms and reassurance visits made to build confidence for police.

    Council Enforcement officers have been contacted to patrol the High Road and George Lane E18 to boost business community's level of trust in NPT working in partnership with the Council Enforcement Officers.

    Street drinkers have been discouraged to gather and consume alcoholic beverages on George Lane bus stops and outside CO-OP store. ASB tickets were issued and problem has seen significant level of reduction and NPT do not hear residents' reporting for street drinkers recently.
