    1) Tackling vehicle-related anti-social behaviour (ASB) and traffic offences. Addressing persistent vehicle-related ASB and criminality in and around March, Whittlesey, Chatteris town centres.

March Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has continued to proactively tackle vehicle-related anti-social behaviour and road traffic offences across March, Whittlesey and Chatteris. Through a combination of targeted enforcement, high-visibility patrols and community engagement, the team has remained focused on improving road safety and addressing concerns raised by local residents.

Officers have conducted regular enforcement activity in identified hotspot locations, issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for anti-social and inconsiderate parking, while supporting businesses and residents affected by poor parking standards. This work has been complemented by regular social media communications to highlight enforcement activity, promote road safety messaging and increase public awareness.

High-visibility patrols have continued across all three towns, providing reassurance to communities and acting as a deterrent to offending. The team has also worked closely with Community Speed Watch volunteers, supporting efforts to address speeding concerns and encourage safer driving behaviour.

March NPT has made effective use of Section 165 powers, seizing a number of illegally used e-scooters, as well as vehicles involved in offences including driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving whilst disqualified. Anti-social driving has also been addressed through the issuing of a number of Section 59 Police Reform Act warnings in Chatteris. These warnings provide an opportunity for drivers to modify their behaviour and can result in vehicle seizure if further anti-social driving is identified.

In addition, officers have made several arrests for drink and drug driving offences, identified through proactive patrol activity and intelligence provided by partner agencies and members of the public.

Overall, March NPT has maintained a strong focus on reducing vehicle-related anti-social behaviour and road traffic offending through a balanced approach of enforcement, prevention and partnership working, contributing to safer roads and stronger communities across March, Whittlesey and Chatteris.

    2) Disrupting drug activity and safeguarding vulnerable individuals

This quarter, March NPT has continued to take a proactive approach to tackling drug-related crime through high-visibility foot and vehicle patrols across the district. These patrols have disrupted offending, deterred criminal activity, and identified individuals involved in both the use and supply of controlled drugs.

Officers have conducted a number of Section 23 stop searches, resulting in positive outcomes for offences including possession, possession with intent to supply, and the seizure of bladed articles. These results have disrupted local criminality, removed weapons from the streets, and generated valuable intelligence to support future enforcement activity.

Alongside enforcement, the team has remained focused on safeguarding vulnerable individuals affected by drug-related crime. Closure Orders obtained during the previous quarter continue to be actively monitored and managed, contributing to a reduction in calls for service and ongoing issues at addresses linked to drug activity.

During this period, several Section 8 drug warrants have been executed following intelligence received from both the public and officers. This included action at the “Greenshop” in Whittlesey, where illegal vapes, illicit tobacco products, and small quantities of drugs were recovered, resulting in a Closure Order being obtained. A further warrant in March led to the arrest of an individual after offensive weapons were located within a private dwelling.

Overall, March NPT continues to deliver an intelligence-led approach to tackling drug-related crime. By combining robust enforcement with effective safeguarding and problem-solving, the team remains committed to disrupting offenders, protecting vulnerable people, and improving community safety across March, Whittlesey and Chatteris.

    3) To reduce anti-social behaviour within March town centre, specifically associated with homelessness, rough sleeping, drug and alcohol misuse and other low-level offending.

March NPT has continued to work alongside partner agencies to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town centre, focusing on issues linked to homelessness, rough sleeping, substance misuse and associated offending.

Throughout the quarter, officers have used a combination of engagement and enforcement to address persistent alcohol-related ASB, encouraging individuals to change their behaviour while taking action where necessary. This has been supported by close partnership working to address the root causes of offending and connect vulnerable individuals with appropriate support services.

Significant progress has been made with a long-term rough sleeper who was responsible for recurring ASB and criminality within the town centre. Through sustained intervention and partnership working, suitable accommodation and support were secured, reducing their impact on the community and improving their personal circumstances.

The team has also taken positive action against those causing the greatest harm, with arrests and prosecutions contributing to a reduction in offending. In addition, several illegal e-scooters have been seized in and around the town centre as part of ongoing efforts to improve public safety.

March NPT remains committed to a balanced approach, combining enforcement, safeguarding and partnership working to reduce anti-social behaviour, support vulnerable people and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors to the town centre.
