Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below priorities for your local neighbourhood policing team in the March area for April to June 2026:

    • Tackling vehicle-related anti-social behaviour and traffic offences in March, Whittlesey and Chatteris town centres.

    • Proactive targeting of known drug dealing and drug use hotspots, within March, Whittlesey, and Chatteris town centres, with a focus on disrupting criminal networks and safeguarding young people at risk of exploitation.

    • Provide a visible policing presence in town centres and other public spaces to offer community reassurance and address safety concerns. This priority follows engagement with young people.

Tackling vehicle-related anti-social behaviour and traffic offences in March, Whittlesey and Chatteris town centres.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team continue to proactively target persistent vehicle related anti-social behaviour and criminality across the town centres of March, Whittlesey and Chatteris.

Parking tickets have been issued for anti-social parking across all three towns, with a particular focus on school related parking issues. This enforcement activity has been publicised via social media.

A day of action took place in Chatteris, resulting in a number of Section 59 warnings for anti-social vehicle use, alongside enforcement for other driving related offences.

Multiple illegal e-bikes and e-scooters have been seized in all three towns. In addition, a number of vehicles have been seized for offences including having no insurance, the driver having no licence or driving while disqualified.
Several arrests have also been made for drink and drug driving.

Proactive targeting of known drug dealing and drug use hotspots, within March, Whittlesey, and Chatteris town centres, with a focus on disrupting criminal networks and safeguarding young people at risk of exploitation.
Neighbourhood officers continue to proactively target identified drug dealing and use hotspots across March, Whittlesey, and Chatteris.

A combination of high visibility patrols and targeted plain clothes activity is being deployed to disrupt criminal networks and safeguard young people who may be vulnerable to exploitation.

During this review period, warrants have been executed at multiple address, resulting in the recovery of Class A and Class B drugs, along with the development of intelligence to identify and target individuals involved in the wider supply chain.

A number of stop searches have also been conducted.

Although some of these resulted in negative outcomes, all searches were intelligence led and provided valuable disruption opportunities, as well as enabling the recording and development of further intelligence.

A recent proactive late shift in Wisbech was particularly successful, resulting in two arrests for drug supply. One of the arrested individuals was also detained on prison recall, having been outstanding since November.

Provide a visible policing presence in town centres and other public spaces to offer community reassurance and address safety concerns. This priority follows engagement with young people.

Neighbourhood officers continue to conduct regular foot patrols across the town centres of March, Whittlesey, and Chatteris, maintaining a consistent and visible policing presence to deter crime and enhance public confidence.
Officers have undertaken high visibility patrols in and around local parks, high footfall areas, and schools during peak drop off and pick up times, providing reassurance and responding promptly to any emerging issues.
Community engagement remains a key priority, with officers attending community events across all three towns. These events have provided accessible opportunities for residents to speak to officers, raise concerns, and discuss local priorities. The team has also doubled the number of police surgeries, increasing opportunities for the public to meet their local officers during both daytime and in the evening.
