As a Neighbourhood Policing Team, we are supporting the local community by raising awareness of fraud and scam prevention, engaging with vulnerable residents, and working closely with partner agencies to identify and safeguard those at risk.

Fraud can be reported through REPORT FRAUD, the UK's national reporting centre for fraud and cyber crime. Reports can be made online at UK's Home for Reporting Cyber Crime & Fraud - Report Fraud or by calling 0300 123 2040.

If the fraud is happening at the time, a suspect is present, or there is an immediate risk of harm, residents should call 999.

For non-emergency police matters relating to fraud or concerns about vulnerable victims, reports can also be made via 101 or through local neighbourhood policing teams.

We have received reports of youth-related anti-social behaviour within Minehead. This includes activities that cause nuisance, distress, or damage within the community. Our Neighbourhood Team is committed to addressing these concerns promptly.

Through a proactive and partnership-based approach, we have been more effectively managing anti-social behaviour within the community. This has included conducting regular high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas, providing reassurance to residents and acting as a deterrent to offending behaviour. We have also strengthened our engagement with young people by attending school events and working closely with local schools to build positive relationships, improve trust, and promote responsible behaviour. In addition, we have held Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC) meetings with identified offenders, working alongside them and their families to understand underlying issues and explore positive interventions and support mechanisms to help manage and improve their behaviour. As a result of these combined efforts, we have seen a significant reduction in anti-social behaviour incidents, demonstrating the effectiveness of early intervention, community engagement, and problem-solving approaches.

  • Blaenoriaeth:

Over the past month, we’ve seen an increase in reports of shoplifting incidents across several retail locations in town. These incidents range from small-value thefts to more organized attempts targeting high-value items.

Local businesses have expressed concern about the impact on their businesses and the safety of staff and customers. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

    Wedi'i roi 01 Rhagfyr 2025

    Camau a gymerwyd:

We have been actively tackling shoplifting through a combination of prevention, engagement, and intelligence-led policing. High-visibility patrols are being conducted in key retail areas to deter offending and provide reassurance to businesses and members of the public. We have encouraged all retailers to report every incident of shoplifting, regardless of the value involved, as this enables us to build a more accurate picture of offending patterns, identify repeat offenders, and highlight the stores most frequently targeted. By working together, we can respond more efficiently to incidents, support retailers, and develop targeted strategies to reduce shoplifting and improve safety within the local business community.

If you are experiencing issues with shoplifting, remember to report these issues to us through the correct channels. You can report:

    Online via Report shoplifting
    By phone

Call 999 – for emergencies or if a crime is in progress.
Call 101 – for non-emergency situations or to provide information about a crime

In-person – visit your local Police Stations during their operational hours

  • Blaenoriaeth:

Over recent weeks, we have received a number of reports relating to antisocial driving of car enthusiasts in and around the North Hill area, Periton, and along the seafront. While many people simply share a passion for cars and enjoy driving and meeting responsibly, some concerns have been raised by local residents about noise, congestion, and driving behaviour.

Officers are actively monitoring these areas and will continue to engage positively where possible. However, where behaviour causes disruption or poses a risk to others, a range of interventions may be used. These include words of advice and dispersal, the issuing of traffic offence reports, Section 59 warnings for anti‑social driving, and, where necessary, enforcement action such as vehicle seizures or fixed penalties. Our approach remains focused on keeping the community safe, preventing escalation, and ensuring public spaces can be enjoyed by everyone.

    Camau a gymerwyd:

While reports of anti-social behaviour involving vehicles have recently decreased, this remains an ongoing issue that we continue to address proactively. We are conducting high-visibility patrols in both marked police vehicles and on foot during the daytime and evening periods, particularly in areas where concerns have previously been reported. Officers are also taking action against any dangerous or anti-social driving that is witnessed, ranging from providing words of advice and education to issuing Section 59 warnings where appropriate. We would encourage members of the public to continue reporting incidents, as this information helps us identify patterns and target our patrols effectively. If you witness anti-social vehicle use, please provide as much detail as possible, including the location, time, vehicle description, and registration number if it is safe to obtain, as this greatly assists us in taking positive action against those responsible.

Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) remains a key priority for our Neighbourhood Policing Team, with a particular focus on safeguarding children and young people.

    Wedi'i roi 01 Mawrth 2026

    Camau a gymerwyd:

Our team has begun delivering student Walk & Talk sessions in local schools to support girls and female staff in sharing their experiences around safety, harassment, and unwanted behaviour. The first session has already taken place and was highly effective, providing valuable insight into how young people feel in different areas of the school and what changes would help them feel safer.

Following this positive response, we will be expanding the Walk & Talk programme to other schools across the area. These sessions allow us to listen directly to those affected, identify practical improvements, and strengthen early intervention around Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).
