Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

The Town Centre Team is patrolling The Curve, St Ethelbert’s, and Yew Tree Road Park to tackle alcohol‑related ASB and seize alcohol where appropriate. Street drinkers have moved into these areas due to town centre redevelopment.

We’re working with Slough Borough Council on long‑term solutions and gathering intelligence to support future Community Protection Notices. We’ll stay vigilant and continue proactive work to reduce ASB.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

    * Conduct regular targeted patrols to address alcohol-related ASB.
    * Signpost vulnerable individuals to appropriate support services.
    * Work with Slough Borough Council to target and manage hotspot areas.
*Enforce PSPO powers, including confiscation of alcohol in public spaces.
*Consider use of CPNs/CPNs and other police powers, including dispersal notices, for persistent offenders.

    Actioned 01 June 2026

  • Priority:

The Town Centre and Chalvey continue to experience thefts from motor vehicles, particularly where vehicles are left unlocked or items are visible inside.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

    * Monitor known Theft From Motor Vehicles offenders & where appropriate stop and search powers.
    * Carry out targeted high-visibility patrols in hotspot areas during peak times.
    * Promote crime prevention through a “Clear Car” campaign, public messaging, and security advice.
    * Engage with the community and partners to gather intelligence, provide reassurance, and encourage preventative measures.

    Actioned 01 June 2026

  • Priority:

A new UK heatwave has pushed more people toward rivers like the Jubilee River, leading to a rise in water‑related deaths. Fast currents, hidden drop‑offs, and cold‑water shock remain major dangers, especially for young people trying to cool off. Emergency services warn that even strong swimmers can get into trouble quickly and are urging the public to stay out of unsupervised open water during extreme heat.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

    * Regular targeted patrols on the Jubilee River.
    * Working with partner agencies to share information, namely Fire & Rescue service.
*We will identify hotspot locations and ensure that any children found unsupervised on tow paths are reported to their parents, with relevant referrals made when appropriate.
    * Alcohol consumption can increase risk near water, as individuals may have reduced awareness and be more likely to enter the water unintentionally.

    Actioned 01 June 2026
