- Anti-Social Behaviour/Drug related issues
  Reports suggest that there is frequent drug dealing and using in the Hillhouse area within the Greenhead ward causing disruptive behaviour and that individuals are buying and using drugs in public spaces. This is causing community concern and distress to local residents. Along with the reports of drug taking there is also an increase in ASB associated with such matter and littering and noise nuisance are a concern. The priority is, in conjunction with partners, to deal with drug related offences, and associated ASB in and around the highlighted locations.
- Traffic, Road safety and poor parking
  There has been an increase in reports of poor, anti-social parking at various locations in Huddersfield. Reports suggest that poor parking is occurring around various educational venues, causing local issues and concerns. The priority will be for the police to work in conjunction with partners to provide education and reinforcement around these areas. Further partnership working will tackle illegal and ASB driving. This will see targeted patrols and days of action established to address these issues
- Reducing Theft from Motor Vehicles
  Vehicle-related crime continues to impact communities across Huddersfield, with offenders targeting both secure and insecure vehicles. Key concerns include the targeting of insecure vehicles parked on the street or driveways by opportunist offenders. This later leads to the fraudulent use of stolen bank cards. These offences not only disrupt livelihoods but also contribute to wider community unease and a sense of vulnerability. Reducing vehicle crime is a priority to improve public confidence, protect property, and support the resilience of local communities..
- Shop Theft
  We will be focusing on tackling thefts from local businesses and retail premises, as well as addressing reports of individuals begging near shopfronts, which has been causing concern for staff and customers. Action taken:
- Anti-Social Behaviour/Drug related issues - Following reports of increased drug related ASB in the Almondbury area, officers conducted targeted patrols in this location. Several disruptions were conducted through arrests and stop searches, and a number of proactive engagement events were conducted. This holistic approach led to a reduction in reported ASB by 31.9%. As a result we plan to take the same approach within the Hillhouse area of Greenhead.
- Traffic, Road safety and poor parking - Neighbourhood Policing Teams have actively targeted and pursued owners and riders of off-road bikes, especially as we move into the Spring/ Summer months. We are working closely with Petrol Stations owners and staff to assist in identifying those using the highway for off road bike activities. We are actively seeking and responding to community intelligence around the use of off-road bikes, and will issue Section 59 warnings and carryout seizures whenever possible.
- Reducing Theft from Motor Vehicles - Neighbourhood Policing Teams have continued to take a proactive and intelligence-led approach to tackling vehicle crime across the area, delivering positive results through targeted enforcement, prevention activity, and partnership working. Over the reporting period, officers have successfully identified, arrested, and charged several prolific offenders responsible for vehicle-related offences. Officers have also identified offences that were not discovered by the victims from extensive CCTV enquiries, which have also led to offenders being charged. These enforcement actions have disrupted criminal activity, removed key offenders from the community, and sent a clear message that vehicle crime will not be tolerated. As a direct result of these investigations and proactive operations, stolen property has been recovered and returned to its rightful owners. The recovery of stolen goods has not only reduced the impact on victims but has also provided valuable evidential opportunities, contributing to successful detections and criminal proceedings. Alongside enforcement activity, neighbourhood officers have engaged with residents, businesses, and community groups to provide crime prevention advice, increase awareness of vehicle security measures, and encourage the reporting of suspicious activity. This visible policing presence and community engagement have helped to build public confidence and strengthen local intelligence gathering. These combined efforts have resulted in an increase in detection rates for vehicle crime offences and a measurable improvement in public satisfaction. Feedback from local communities indicates that residents feel reassured by the proactive action being taken and recognise the commitment of officers in addressing the issues that matter most to them. Neighbourhood Policing Teams remain committed to reducing vehicle crime, pursuing offenders, safeguarding victims, and working with communities to ensure the area remains a safe place to live, work, and visit.
- Shop Theft - Town Centre - Teams continue to work with business owners to share intelligence and take enforcement action. NPT Officers have issued Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) and Community Protection Notices (CPNs) to known nominals. Our dedicated Town Centre Team are increasing patrols and visibility to deter crime, provide reassurance to businesses, and ensure the public feel safe. NPT Officers have conducted revisits to identify offenders early so arrests could be made promptly. Police Contact Points have been set up in high-footfall areas to reassure businesses and the public, while offering an opportunity for residents to discuss local issues and receive crime prevention advice.
