About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Prolific shoplifters targeting One-Stop stores across our area. They will then attend local pubs to sell their stolen items.

    Issued 26 June 2026

    Action taken:

We are continuing to work alongside our partners and local business across our area. This includes close partnership work with security staff and shop workers, targeted patrols by our local officers and crime reduction advice and support.

Local licensees are visited and advised to call us if people are trying to sell stolen items in their local pub. Several offenders have recently been arrested and charged for theft offences

    Actioned 26 June 2026

  • Priority:

Off Road Bikes. We receive regular reports regarding off road bikes causing issues on our estates and local parks.

    Issued 26 June 2026

    Action taken:

We have conducted a number of intelligence-led patrols of the identified hotspot areas and have seized a number of road bikes over the last six months, and will look to continue to do so moving forward.

We also work closely with the local Council both to make them aware of the issues and to work together to integrate control measures to stop people getting access to parks and open areas where they can ride the bikes.

    Actioned 26 June 2026

  • Priority:

Significant number of burglaries and car thefts, predominantly within the St Thomas and Netherton areas.

    Issued 26 June 2026

    Action taken:

Ongoing proactive patrols in the area to deter offences and identify suspects, including intelligence-led patrol strategies and partnership working with other departments such as Force Traffic

    Actioned 26 July 2026
