About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Vehicle Crime - An increase in theft of motor vehicles within the Kings Norton ward and wider constituency area.

    Action taken:

    The local dedicated neighbourhood officers will be paying attention and conducting patrols in key locations. Officers will be working closely with partners to identify those involved and prevent further offending. There is a lot of crime prevention vehicle crime advice available on the WMP website - consider using steering locks even if only popping into a shop or visiting a friend for a short time. If you have any information of who may be involved please inform us via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Your local PCSOs are available if you would like any further advice.

    Report of vehicles speeding on certain roads across the ward. Of note Shannon Rd and Wychall Lane

    Action taken:

    Officers will be conducting patrols in these area and will take appropriate action where required. Local officers are also trained to carry out Community Speedwatch with local volunteers. A new speedwatch group has been formed ( Kings Norton Community Speedwatch Group ) and will be conducting speed checks - we will be reporting back on the results. If you are interested in joining or setting up a community speedwatch - please drop your local PCSOs a line via the website details.

    Reports of ASB at the location involving large groups of youths.

    Action taken:

    Report reports of youths causing ASB have been reported. The local team will be engaging with the community to provide support and advice. Officers will be increasing patrols and taking appropriate action against those involved and responsible. ** If you have any information of those involved please call WMP or Crimestoppers on 0800555111 ( Anonymously ).
