About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

ASB and Parking Twyford Road -Due to increased numbers of complaints relating to inconsiderate parking and ASB caused by customers of Amaan Supermarket at all hours of the night and day.

    Issued 28 June 2026

    Action taken:

We are working with Birmingham City Council Parking Enforcement. We know that the majority of vehicles are owned locally, so we are using a mixture of education and enforcement, to persuade residents and customers to be more considerate.

    Actioned 28 June 2026

  • Priority:

ASB Bromford Drive- There has been an increase of reports of ASB at Bromford Drive retail area, this has included groups of young males, motor vehicles being driven in an anti-social manner and empty Nitrous Oxide canisters being left in parking areas.

    Issued 28 June 2026

    Action taken:

Multi agency operations to tackle the fatal four (speeding, drink/drug driving, using a mobile phone, not wearing seatbelt). Sometimes you will see us on our own with a handheld speed device to catch speeding drivers. Other times you will see us parked up with partners from DVSA, West Midlands Fire Service, Taxi Licensing, VOSA and many more, providing education to drivers and removing vehicles form the road that shouldn’t be there. We are also introducing community Speedwatch, to help focus attention on the dangers of speeding.

Since November 2023 nitrous oxide is now a class c controlled drug Under the misuse of drugs act. We will look to increase our local patrols in the hot spot areas identified to conduct stop and searches of those suspected of being in possession or under the influence of nitrous oxide. We will also work with local council to issue fines/warnings to those responsible for littering

    Actioned 28 June 2026

  • Priority:

Road Safety - Specific focus on Speeding and Number plate offences whereby offenders are actively trying to avoid their number plates being detected.

    Issued 28 June 2026

    Action taken:

Increase stationary operations with police speed camera enforcement vans at specific locations. Also use of ghost number plate checker to possible identify further RT offences.

    Actioned 28 June 2026
