Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti-social use of off road and road legal motorbikes. This is a continuing priority

    Issued 13 July 2026

    Action taken:

We anticipate this issue rising in the coming months owing to the warmer weather and longer days. We are conducting patrols at key hot spot areas for off road bikes and will take appropriate action when vehicles are stopped.

Dawberry Fields Park, Allens Croft Road is heavily patrolled and is a current hotpot area for Off Road motorbikes use.

Patrols have taken place in key locations provided by the public such as Maurice Road and Taylor Road. This has led to reduced calls for service around this issue.

If you have any information of where these bikes may be being stored - please let us know direct or through crimestoppers anonymously. Your information really will help.

Patrols have been carried out in Kelverdale Grove, Danzy Grove, Tunnel Lane Park( off Shelfield Road) to deter this activity. We are also working with the community to identify these riders.
As of 15th July 2026, and further to the above update, an address in the Kings Heath area has been identified where an Off Road Mini Moto is being used, and from this, further enquiries will now be made by the Police to establish if this is the case.

    Actioned 15 July 2026

  • Priority:

Poor driving standards across the ward - speeding and poor parking. continuing priority

    Issued 13 July 2026

    Action taken:

This is not an issue purely isolated to this area. Complaints regarding speed and poor parking outside the schools is a regular issue that we are dealing with by being present outside schools when it is drop/collection times when time permits. Encouraging the schools to issue warnings to parents around safety on a regular basis.

Should this be affecting yourselves - please ensure the schools are aware, and let us know by email or phonecall.
We have issued a letter to all secondary schools to be passed to parents in the area around illegal/inconsiderate parking. If you wish to have this for your childs school please get in touch.

A new community Speedwatch group was set up in Kings Heath and will be active in the known hotspots over the coming months.

As of 29/06/26,a resident In Brandwood Park Road received a ticket for causing an obstruction to public highway in the road. The resident was warned prior to the ticket be issued out that any further parking obstruction caused by them, will result in a ticket being issued.

On 14/07/2026, two Community Speed Watch operations were conducted. One operation took place outside of a Primary School, and the other on a main arterial route in the area, from the time that Police were present, our Pro-Laser Speeding device measured that vehicles were travelling at less than 20MPH, and below the legal speed limit for these roads.

    Actioned 13 July 2026

  • Priority:

Drug dealing in the local area - specifically on May Lane/Taylor Road (ASB) - continuing priority

    Issued 13 July 2026

    Action taken:

The community have informed police and partners about the issue of drug dealing/taking around areas of the ward. Numerous vehicles have been identified with reports being placed on them for stopping by police vehicles. Residents have been visited and updated as to police actions so far and CCTV signage has been put on lamp posts to deter further issues.

We have paid passing attention to Taylor Road, Haunch lane, and May Lane, and enhanced patrolling along Alcester Road South, and we have received a decline in calls regarding this concern.

Further patrols have been conducted along Taylor Road, where a male who was wanted by the Police was found at this location, and then arrested.

If this still affects you in this area, please let us know - we will consider amending this priority this month.

    Actioned 15 July 2026
