About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    - Deal robustly with people committing offences, making use of available equipment such as a Trucam and Speed monitoring devices.
    - Complete enforcement campaigns, offering advice, guidance and awareness as well as enforcement.
    - Ensure officers positively target areas of heightened concern.
    - Conduct further neighbourhood surveys to identify areas of concern.

    - Carry out targeted patrols focusing on areas with intel for drug use and dealing.
    - Work with the community to collect all relevant information around drug dealing and use in the area
    - Conduct stop searches and build cases for warrants to target dealing in the area.

    - Conduct high visibility foot patrols in problematic areas.

    - Provide crime prevention advice to victims and local neighbourhoods being targeted by offenders
    - work with partner agencies to deliver a joined up approach.
