About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Issue: Road Safety
    You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback, crime data and ongoing local concerns.

    Action taken:

    We will:
    - Conduct speed enforcement on high-risk routes within the safer neighbourhood area and other areas identified by residents as a concern.
    - Inform and educate road users in respect of legislation governing the roads, using pop-up events, social media and Neighbourhood Matters.
    - Target individuals suspected of committing offences using the road networks and take positive action to address this.

    July 2026
    We did:
    Conducted speed enforcement across a number of routes, reporting 25 drivers for driving in excess of the speed limit.
    Seized a vehicle which had no valid insurance and no tax.
    Gathered intelligence about a number of vehicles being driven on our roads without the required documentation.

    Action taken:

    We will:
    - Deal robustly with people committing anti-social behaviour, making use of available legislation and civil orders.
    - Ensure officers are visible in areas identified as of heightened concern to divert offenders and prevent harm.
    - Educate members of the public around anti-social behaviour, using pop-up events, social media and Neighbourhood Matters.

    July 2026
    We did:
    Conducted regular patrols of areas known for anti-social behaviour
    Attended reports of youths starting small fires on common ground and numerous other anti-social behaviour reports, educating young persons and visiting them at home to make their parents aware.
    Attended ASB reports involving adults and dealt with them according to the risk they presented, and the history of the persons involved.
    Published education posts on social media regarding fires and water safety, along with sending letters to schools for the students to send home.
    Conducted additional patrols to manage any ASB associated with the World Cup.
    Conducted 2 multi-agency meetings around areas with ongoing anti-social behaviour.
    Seized a vehicle involved in anti-social behaviour.

    Action taken:

    We will:
    - Provide a wrap-around service for all rural burglary victims within the safer neighbourhood area, providing crime prevention advice and resources.
    - Deal robustly with poaching offences and wildlife crime offenders making use of all legislation available.
    - Educate and inform members of the public around aspects of rural crime via pop-up events, social media and Neighbourhood Matters.

    July 2026
    We did:
    Conducted wrap around services for all burglary dwelling reported.
    Conducted patrols of the areas known to be targeted by poachers and rural criminals.
