Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Police have received reports and intelligence relating to suspected drug-related activity in the areas near to Silkin Way and the Methodist Church. Concerns from residents and local stakeholders indicate that these locations may be being used for the supply and use of controlled drugs, resulting in community concerns regarding anti-social behaviour.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

Targeted high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols will be conducted within identified hotspot locations to gather intelligence and disrupt suspected drug-related activity. Officers will engage with residents, businesses and community partners to develop intelligence and identify offenders. Searches and enforcement action will be undertaken where appropriate and proportionate, with consideration given to safeguarding vulnerable individuals involved in drug misuse. Partnership working with local authority departments, housing providers and other agencies will be utilised to address environmental factors that may facilitate criminality.

    Actioned 01 September 2026

  • Priority:

Police have received reports and concerns from residents regarding anti-social driving within the Donnington area, particularly around the Clock Tower and along the A518. Issues reported include excessive speed, unnecessary vehicle noise, aggressive driving, and vehicles being driven in a manner that causes alarm, distress and danger to other road users and members of the public. The behaviour is having a negative impact on community confidence and perceptions of road safety.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

Targeted patrols will be conducted within identified hotspot locations, including the Clock Tower and the A518, at peak times to identify and deter offending drivers. Officers will utilise intelligence-led patrols, speed enforcement where appropriate, and engagement with local residents and businesses to gather information regarding repeat offenders and vehicles of concern. Enforcement action will be taken against drivers committing offences, including traffic offence reports, vehicle defect notices and the use of powers available under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act where applicable. Partnership working with roads policing colleagues and local authority partners will also be considered to address any environmental factors contributing to the problem.

    Actioned 01 October 2026
