About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Issue: Shop Thefts

    This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on community feedback, crime data and engagement with partners.

    We will:
    -Deal robustly with shoplifting in the local area, and target repeat offenders so that local businesses can have trust and confidence in their Police service.

    We Did July 2026 -
    Continued to engage with retail businesses impacted by retail crime and those at risk of retail crime, offering crime prevention advice, identified prolific offenders and make them accountable through the use of the criminal justice system.

    We did August 2026 -
    Collaborative work is on-going with partner agencies
    Liaison with West Midlands police for the cross border offenders to share intelligence

    Issue: Anti-social behaviour.
    This a priority for the next three months based on data, community feedback and engagement with partners.

    Action taken:

    We will:
    Engage with the Community to identify the areas blighted with Anti/ social behaviour . Carry out high visibility patrols in impacted areas. Tackle any antisocial behaviour identified and and commit to reducing antisocial behaviour that is negatively impacting the community.

    We did July 2026 -
    The safer neighbourhood officers have spoken to local residents, businesses, schools and other organisations to find out where anti-social behaviour is happening the most. We have increased police patrols in hotspot areas so people can see us more often and feel safer. Action will be taken when anti-social behaviour has been reported, including speaking to people involved and collecting evidence. We work with local councils and partner agencies to solve ongoing problems and stop them from happening again. We actively try to encouraged people to report incidents so we can get a better understanding of what's happening and where help is needed most.

    We did August 2026 -
    Visible patrols in Tonyn Close and Hollington Rd. Alvechurch, letter drop with housing provider and engaging with residents as well as listening to there concerns and worries.
    Visible patrols of Wythall and community engagement in this area in order to deter and identify any ASB issues. Partnership working to target specific areas highlighted.

    Speeding and illegal use of the road network in our community.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

    We will:
    Tackle speeding and other Illegal road use within the community, by using all tools available to us. this will be done through education and taking positive action where appropriate.

    We Did July 2026 -
    We are patrolling roads where people have reported problems with speeding and dangerous driving. We carry out speed checks and work with the Community Speedwatch Scheme to find areas where speeding happens the most.
    We have spoken to drivers about road safety and the dangers of speeding. Action is taken when drivers have broken the law and worked with other organisations when needed. We continue to use information from local residents to help us decide where to focus our patrols and road safety work.

    We did August 2026 -
    Officers have conducted speed surveys and speed enforcement:
    Enforcement locations include, Beoley Lane, Weather Oak Hill and Houndsfield Lane
    Hopwood pre-planned op targeting illegal activities
    Hi visibility patrols on all roads including high harm routes
    Community speed watch groups continues to be set up in various locations and further site surveys have been conducted at various locations.
