About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Burglary Other: The local team has identified an increase in non-residential burglaries within the area.

    Action taken:

    - Rural South officers will conduct increased high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot locations.
    - Targeted patrol activity will focus on vulnerable premises and rural areas.
    - Officers will gather and develop intelligence to identify offenders and patterns of offending.
    - Engage with the community to provide crime prevention advice around securing outbuildings and property.

    ASB – Nuisance Bikes: The anti-social use of off-road motorcycles is a seasonal issue, which is expected to increase over the coming months with the onset of warmer weather.

    Action taken:

    - Conduct increased high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas to deter offending and provide reassurance to the public.
    - Target individuals involved in anti-social riding through proactive policing.
    - Utilise enforcement powers, including Section 59 warnings, to deter nuisance riding and seize motorcycles from repeat offenders.
    - Develop and gather intelligence to identify those responsible and support targeted enforcement action.

    Rural South has seen an increase in outhouses and shed burglary`s recently. Local officers will follow up all burglary`s and visit victims in person to provide reassurance and crime prevention advice.

    Residents have raised concerns via our connected priories survey; officers will look to support and promote community speed watch. In addition, they will carry out speed monitoring and enforcement across the area as well as educate drivers.
