Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti-Social Behaviour: The Rural North Team has identified an increase in anti-social behaviour (ASB) across parts of their area.

    This includes:

    - Use of nitrous oxide (NOS) canisters
    - Fly tipping
    - Anti-social use of off-road motorcycles

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

    - Conduct increased high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas to deter offending and reassure the community.
    - Target individuals responsible for ASB through proactive engagement and enforcement.
    - Take positive enforcement action where sufficient evidence exists.
    - Work in partnership with local authorities and partner agencies to address fly tipping and environmental concerns.
    - Develop and gather intelligence to identify repeat offenders and support targeted interventions.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

Vehicle Related Crime: There has been a slight increase in vehicle-related crime across the Rural North area, including theft from motor vehicles.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

    - The team will conduct targeted operations across the area to address these issues.
    - Proactive patrols will be focused on identified hotspot locations and vulnerable areas.
    - Officers will work to identify offenders through intelligence-led policing.
    - Enforcement action will be taken where appropriate and sufficient evidence is obtained.
    - Provide crime prevention advice to residents to reduce opportunities for offending.

  • Priority:

    Off-road/nuisance motorcycles

    Issued 01 April 2026
