Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Cycling in contravention of highway code on peascod street, Windsor. E-bikes and e scooter also being used in the area of Windsor shopping centre

    Issued 05 June 2026

    Action taken:

The team have highlighted lack of visible signs to RBWM who are responsible for this as many say they do not see these. RBWM are being liaised with in an effort to authorise more signage to the area.

Team have completed patrols and multiple persons have been educated about the appropriate use of bikes and the one way roads and conducting foot patrols on the foot paths joining Windsor to Slough. The team will continue to complete Op Pulse operations in relation to this priority.

    Actioned 05 June 2026

  • Priority:

    The recent 2026 resident survey detailed the following issues;
Youths on Peascod Street verbally abusing the public
Youths banging on resident doors between 1500-1800
Graffiti and littering in Bachelors acre
    beggars hassling people for money
Persons urinating on trees on the long walk

    Issued 05 June 2026

    Action taken:

We have worked with RBWM Council regarding the issues raised in Bachelors acre to locate the area of littering and graffiti. The RBWM wardens have been able to assist with this and a new CCTV Camera has been placed in the Brocas to detect and help prevent the youths banging on residence doors.

The team have issued Acceptable Behaviour Contacts and Community protection warnings to those youths causing Anti Social Behaviour and a Protection warning for a drunk male causing further issues in the town.

At the end of April 2026 Police issued a disposal order due to Anti Social Behaviour in The Brocas fields due to youths drinking and causing ASB issues. High visibility patrols were completed in The Brocas field and Windsor Town Centre which were effective. Multiple person were stop and searched and issued Out of Court Disposal for drug use in the area.

    Actioned 05 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Catapulting of birds and wildlife

    Issued 05 June 2026

    Action taken:

The team have liaised with RBWM regarding a PSPO to be put in place for those that carry a catapult without good reason.

On Tuesday 28 April, Cabinet agreed to introduce a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), a tool used to tackle antisocial behaviour, covering Eton & Castle, Old Windsor, Datchet, Horton and Wraysbury. This follows reports of catapults being used to harm wildlife – including swans and other protected birds – and damage property.

This will make it an offence to carry a catapult in public within the specified areas, giving Thames Valley Police officers and the council’s Community Wardens additional powers to intervene. Officers will be able to challenge anyone carrying a catapult, seize items where appropriate, and issue Fixed Penalty Notices of £100 on the spot.

Subject to the standard governance process, the PSPO is expected to come into effect from Monday 11 May.

Multiple Patrols have been conducted in the area throughout the month as part of daily duties. However ton Friday 24th April Windsor NHPT Officers along with the Rural Crime team conducted patrols in Windsor, Datchet, Horton and Wraysbury, on a dedicated operation to help protect wildlife and keep our communities safe.

While out, officers also achieved the following outcomes:
    • 1 arrest for fail to appear
    • 2 community resolutions for drugs offences
    • 1 investigation commenced into possession of Class A drugs
    • 1 vehicle seized and driver reported for no insurance
    • 1 driver reported for failure to wear a seatbelt
    • 1 Stop Search resulting in the seizure of ball bearings used as ammunition

Please note Datchet have their own priority around this too.
