About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Retail Crime and Theft in Thame Town Centre

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

The team have made great inroads into local offending in retail premises. We have made good connections with management in most of Thame's major retail outlets and also had success with charging several local offenders with shoplifting offences. We continue to work towards the re-launch of Shopwatch which has been delayed due to technical works.

    Actioned 18 October 2026

  • Priority:

Neighbourhood Crime (Theft from Motor Vehicles)

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

Offending in the area of Theft from Motor Vehicles continues to be greatly reduced thanks to pro-active work by the team. The suspect for the offences at j.8 M40 remains under investigation by our colleagues in the Priority Crime Team. The team remain in close contact with staff and CCTV operators at the location to ensure any repeat offending is curtailed quickly.

    Actioned 18 October 2026

  • Priority:

Anti-Social Behaviour in Thame Town Centre

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

The team are working on compiling offences committed by a group of young people in Thame recently. Evidence gathering has been underway and we will be looking at interviewing the suspects in the near future to curtail offending and bring them to justice. Our Hotspot patrols cover those areas most affected by ASB including the Town Centre, Elms Park and Southern Road Rec.
