About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

ASB being caused by drug users and street drinkers - Courtland Road, Rose Hill

    Issued 01 December 2026

    Action taken:

The South East Neighbourhood Team are patrolling the are and have issued 2 Community Protection Warnings and 1 Community Protection Notice to repeat ASB offenders. Stop searches for drugs possession have been completed. The team are engaging with local businesses to ensure they feel safe and working together with the local Community Safety Partnership to ensure ASB stops in the area.

    Actioned 01 December 2026

  • Priority:

    Shoplifting - COOP, Rose Hill

    Issued 01 December 2026

    Action taken:

The COOP in Rose Hill has seen a reduction in shoplifting over the recent months by working with the South East Policing team, however, the team have continued to patrol the area and robustly deal with repeat offenders from the store. The Neighbourhood Team are working closely with the COOP to reduce shopliftings as well as working with the retail crime team to arrest and prosecute offenders in a timely manner. Increased patrols and engagement work will continue to keep the reduction of shoplifting on a downward trend.

    Actioned 01 December 2026

  • Priority:

Use of E-scooters and illegal E-bikes. This appears to be an issue generally across the South East Oxford neighbourhood policing area. This includes Rose Hill, Iffley, Littlemore, Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys and the Towpath

    Issued 01 December 2026

    Action taken:

In direct response to concerns raised by local residents, our team has launched a series of targeted operations aimed at addressing the unlawful use of electric bikes and e-scooters within the area. These vehicles, when used illegally or irresponsibly, pose significant risks to public safety and contribute to wider anti-social behaviour.

In June 2026 21 illegal e-bikes and 10 e-scooters have been seized and permanently removed from our streets in Oxford City. This decisive action reflects our commitment to restoring safety and order in public spaces, and sends a clear message that such behaviour will not be tolerated.

These operations are part of a broader strategy to enhance community safety and ensure that residents feel heard, respected, and protected. We are working closely with partner agencies to maintain a visible presence, gather intelligence, and take swift enforcement action where necessary.
