About us

    E-scooters, and speeding vehicles

    Action taken:

    Officers have been working with traffic trained officers including the community speed van to add Nine mile ride and their extension to their patrols and area’s to combat speeding. There have been good results and some traffic offenders have received fines and points for their road use. A long side this officers and PCSO’s have been parking up on the side of the road as a warning to other road users to make them aware of the police’s Prescence on the road

    ASB and rise in Shoplifting at CO-OP, Finchampstead Crossroads

    Action taken:

    Officers have continued to work with the CO-OP after a spate of shopliftings where people have been stealing items whilst at the self scans area of the shop. Officers have been in regular contact with shop staff, the store manager and the regional store manager to work out ways of combatting this. Numerous people have received out of court disposals for there actions and some have been arrested and are awaiting charges. Members of the public have mentioned the CO-OP as a problem area of the community and we are working with the store to make it a safer place to shop in the village

    Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and Drug taking around California Country Park and FBC

    Action taken:

    Officers and PCSO’S have been conducting patrols both in vehicles and on foot in and around California Country Park and the back of the FBC centre after numerous reports of ASB involving teenagers, drinking, smoking and riding illegal ebikes and scooters in the park and targeting normal members of the public with foul language. Officers and PCSO’s have been working with the staff at the café at the park and members of staff at the FBC to try and identify times, locations and individuals to try and prevent this happening in the future. Dispersals of Groups of youths have taken place at the FBC and Gorse Ride. Work has taken place with Youth Justice Unit to tackle the underlying causes of ASB and to see what can be provided in the community to deter ASB and offending.
