About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Address community concerns regarding excessive vehicle speeds. Speeding has been identified as an ongoing issue within our communities with many concerns around the speed of vehicles on Temple Way, North Street and Locks Ride

    Issued 04 September 2026

    Action taken:

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will conduct targeted speed enforcement and high-visibility patrols at identified hotspot locations. Recently more of the team have been trained in the speed gun technology allowing more officers to able to conduct speed enforcement

    Actioned 15 October 2026

  • Priority:

Tackle the illegal and anti-social use of e-scooters and e-bikes across, Moordale Avenue, Wokingham Road and Lily Hill Park,

    Issued 04 September 2026

    Action taken:

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will conduct targeted patrols in identified hotspot locations, engaging with riders and taking proportionate enforcement action where offences are identified. Officers have carried out high-visibility operations, in Moordale Avenue and Lily Hill Park we will continue to work alongside partner agencies to address persistent issues.

    Actioned 15 October 2026

  • Priority:

Address reports of drug use and associated anti-social behaviour within Jocks Lane, Longhill Park and Savernake Park

    Issued 04 September 2026

    Action taken:

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will conduct targeted high-visibility patrols and plain-clothed operations in identified hotspot locations. This has resulted in a positive stop search in Savernake park where drugs were located and seized and a positive resolution has been issued. Officers will continue engage with local residents, gather intelligence, utilise stop and search powers where appropriate and work alongside partner agencies to identify and disrupt individuals involved in drug-related activity
