About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

    Anti-social behaviour was again voted as a priority in the May 2026 community survey.

    Action taken:

    The Aylesbury West neighbourhood policing team are dealing with this new priority as voted by the community. Each month the reported figures will be compared to the previous month to ensure progress is being made and this data will be in future updates.
    June update: 11 recorded instances in May a reduction of 20% .
    July update: 8 recorded instances in June a reduction of 27% on previous month.
    The team are working with local residents and businesses to gather intel to try and identify offenders. We will have partnership working with local councils and housing to tackle hard hit areas. Minimum monthly Have Your Say events will be published on social media and TV Alerts to enable our community to come and speak to us directly about any issues.
    Actions will be reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress being made and the priority will be reviewed quarterly as per the community survey results.

    Speeding was voted again as a priority in the May 2026 community survey.

    Issued 08 June 2026

    Action taken:

    The local neighbourhood policing team are working to improve community safety by reducing speeding.
    We will measure improvements by comparing previous results of speed surveys to those numbers moving forward. All data to be shared in future updates.
    Actions to include Speed surveys as we move into 2026.. Results to be shared in future update. Partnership working with local Speed watch groups to identify hard hit areas.
    June update: more speed surveys to be completed and engagement with volunteers who run speed watch group to assist with monitoring speed and identifying arears for enforcement.
    July update: speed survey completed by speed watch volunteers on 16th June, 17/475 speeding at average of 40 in a 30 zone. Area will be targeted for enforcement action days.
    This priority will be reviewed quarterly as per community survey results and the actions reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress.

    Drug related crime was voted again as a priority in the May 2026 community survey.

    Action taken:

    The neighbourhood team are working to reduce drug related crime in the West of Aylesbury.
    We will compare numbers of reports from this month to those moving forward to ensure progress is being made. Warning letters will continue to be issued and possible court action to obtain closure orders. Any orders obtained will be shown in future updates.
    Update June: 7 possessions & 3 intent to supply for the month of May. An increase on previous months figures.
    Actions to include hi visibility patrols, partnership working to gather intel and working with local residents to identify offenders.
    July update: 5 recorded possession and 2 intent to supply for June, a reduction on previous month.
    The actions will be reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress and the priority will be reviewed quarterly as per community survey results.
