About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Drug Harm Reduction

    Targeting drug related crime in your town through intelligence, enforcement and partnership work.

    Action taken:

    •Police led operations, targeting known areas of drug use and drug dealing continue.

    •Officers also continue working alongside local authorities to secure closure orders on properties causing drug related ASB.

    •Future partnership work around known addresses causing drug harm in your area are taking place in response to recent reports from local residents and following concerns raised to officers at recent community meetings around drug related harm.

  • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour (ASB), and youth related crime and disorder (e.g. youth related ASB, large groups or threatening behaviours)

    Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings.

    Action taken:

    •Officers for Upperton continue to commit to daily patrols of the area, including in areas of reported anti-social behaviour (ASB), at peak times as reported by local residents.

    •We continue working alongside partners and youth organisations, including visiting schools to identify opportunities for early intervention with individuals at risk of causing ASB.

    •Most recently officers have been addressing concerns from local businesses around youth related crime and disorder which has escalated to incidents of shoplifting and theft. Police are working with local business in the area to identify those involved to be able to take appropriate action.
