About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Speeding

    Issued 12 March 2026

    Action taken:

Local officers continue to lead efforts to improve road safety by conducting regular speed checks in the most affected areas and actively supporting Community Speed Watch (CSW) initiatives. CSW works closely with our teams to monitor and encourage safer driving behaviours. In addition, enforcement operations remain a key priority, with ongoing activity to address speeding and other motoring offences.

    Actioned 30 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Burglary

    Issued 12 March 2026

    Action taken:

We remain committed to maintaining a strong presence in rural areas through additional daytime and evening patrols, continually assessing vulnerabilities and gathering intelligence. These efforts are reinforced by ongoing targeted operations during late evening and early morning hours, in collaboration with the Rural Crime Team and cross-border Kent officers, to deter and disrupt theft and cross-border criminal activity.
Our work also includes the continued delivery of regular crime prevention advice to residents, farmers, and local businesses. We focus on improving security and implementing robust target-hardening measures to reduce the risk of theft and keep our communities safe.

    Actioned 28 June 2026
