About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Drug Harm Reduction.

    Targeting drug related crime in your town through intelligence, enforcement and partnership work.

    Action taken:

    • Continued targeted patrols to tackle drug related harm, including high visibility patrols of known areas of drug use and drug dealing including in areas of Devonshire Tennis courts and the pier to deter and identify those involved.

    • A number of arrests made in the past few months in relation to drug harm, with referrals made to partner agencies to provide support and prevent further harm from known drug users in the area.

  • Priority:

    Anti-social driving (e.g. speeding, nuisance or noisy vehicles, cycles or e-scooters on the pavement)

    Responding and taking action to tackle road and driving related offences that fall under the fatal 5, including excess speeding, mobile phone use, as well as tackling anti-social driving.

    Action taken:

    •Officers for Meads continue to commit to additional patrols and targeted police operations in areas of reported ASB driving, including areas of King Edwards Parade and the roads across Beachy Head.

    •Future partnership road safety checks to be planned, including checks alongside volunteers from your Meads Community SpeedWatch Groups (CSW).
