About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Tackling Anti-social behaviour (ASB)

Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or local parks, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings.

    Issued 01 March 2026

    Action taken:

•We continue to work alongside partners and youth organisations, including schools and colleges to identify opportunities for early intervention with individuals at risk of causing ASB.

•In the last few months a number of proactive patrols, targeted operations, and community meetings led by police and supported by partners have taken place in area to address community concerns around ASB, drug use and criminal damage in the park area, including both knife sweeps and Neighbourhood First led clear up operations.

    Actioned 01 April 2026

  • Priority:

Anti-social driving (e.g. speeding, nuisance or noisy vehicles, cycles or e-scooters on the pavement)

Responding to and addressing community concerns around road and driving related offences that fall into the fatal 5 driving offences.

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

•Increased visible foot and vehicle patrols in areas of reported excess speeding, and ASB driving in an attempt to deter and identify those involved.

•We are also continuing to partner with local CSW (community speed watch) groups in the area to plan days of action along roads reported by residents as problem areas.

•Work alongside our newly formed Fatal5 Roads Safety Team continues into the Summer

    Actioned 01 April 2026
