About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Speeding

    Issued 12 March 2026

    Action taken:

We’ve continued to work closely with Speedwatch volunteers across the Brede Valley, alongside our own policing colleagues, to address concerns around speeding. This joint approach has involved both the recording of speeding incidents and active enforcement where necessary. Officers have carried out targeted speed checks in areas identified as high-risk, issuing warnings and taking enforcement action where appropriate. These efforts are part of a wider strategy to educate drivers and raise awareness of the serious dangers associated with excessive speed, particularly in rural communities where pedestrians, cyclists, and livestock are often present. Through visible policing and community engagement, we aim to promote safer driving habits and reduce the likelihood of speed-related incidents.

    Actioned 28 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour

    Issued 10 March 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to tackle antisocial behaviour across Brede Valley with high-visibility patrols, focusing on youth-related incidents and the illegal use of off-road motorcycles. Officers are engaging with young people and their guardians to offer guidance and reinforce the consequences of unsafe or unlawful activity. Our work remains concentrated in the most affected areas, building positive relationships and working with residents to reduce ASB and improve community safety.
