About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti-social driving, in particular speeding vehicles

    Issued 25 April 2026

    Action taken:

We are engaging with local communities and stakeholders to listen to their concerns surrounding anti-social road related issues.
We continue to support and promote force-wide campaigns, targeted operations with specialist units, and road-related activity including Operation Downsway deployments.
We will also liaise with local community speed watch groups, assist in conducting speed checks, as well as encourage residents to utilise the Operation Crackdown service for reporting any road related concerns.

    Actioned 25 April 2026

  • Priority:

Thefts from motor vehicles in rural areas and car parks

    Issued 25 April 2026

    Action taken:

Active patrols of the local beauty spots and rural carparks, where reports have been made, will act as a deterrent and a reassuring presence for visitors to these areas, and we continue to work with our colleagues in the Rural Crime Team.
Engagement opportunities for residents will be advertised where possible, and we will continue to share crime prevention advice and safeguarding information both in person and online.

    Actioned 25 April 2026

  • Priority:

Illegal/antisocial use of electric scrambler bikes

    Issued 25 April 2026

    Action taken:

Patrols of the local roads, footpaths and fields will continue, particularly where access routes in and out of the city are used, in order to deter illegal use of these bikes. Ongoing work to increase awareness on the topic is taking place and intelligence gathering to identify and disrupt those individuals’ using bikes in the commission of crime continues.

    Actioned 25 April 2026
