About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Anti Social Driving - Sainsburys Warlingham
    We are aware of reports usually on Tuesday and Saturday evenings of Anti social driving and noise after store closing time in Sainsburys car park

    Action taken:

    The local team continue to liaise with Sainsburys to ensure gates are shut to the car park, out of hours.
    The local team continue to patrol the area and will utilise police powers for anyone driving antisocially.
    A tasking has been submitted to our Vanguard Road Safety team who have offered their support to complete additional patrols of the location.

    Shoplifting and retail crime
    Increased theft from shops and concerns regarding threats / violence towards retail staff.

    Action taken:

    The local team have secured a criminal behaviour order against a repeat shoplifting at Tesco Warlingham and he now has conditions which prohibit him form entering the Borough of Tandridge.
    The local team complete regular engagement with the local shops and businesses to increase confidence locally. Following this engagement there has been an increase in reporting of offences locally.
    There are ongoing policing operations, both overt and covert targeting retail crime
    -Targeting of repeat offenders and utilising anti social behaviour legislation when appropriate.

    Serious Acquisitive Crime - Burglaries and Keyless vehicle thefts
    Although there is no specific hotspot area the north of the borough sees the majority of recorded offences, likely due to the vicinity to the strategic road network.

    Action taken:

    The team continue to hold regular engagements in the local area raising awareness around burglary types whilst offering crime prevention advice and reassurance.
    Cross border working with neighbouring police forces and information sharing is ongoing, including proactive patrols of hotspot areas,
