About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti Social behaviour including the use of E-Bikes and motorbikes on Sandy Hill and Caesars Camp.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

Local officers complete regular patrols of the area, engaging with local residents and completing joint patrols with the MOD, aiming to educate those who use the training area.

In recent months the local policing team attended a joint engagement event on Sandy Hill with partner agencies and attended community events to engage with residents. A gaming van event was also held at the Community Centre to enable local officers to engage with youths from the area to discuss any concerns or issues they may have.

  • Priority:

Shoplifting - Reports of retail crime have been increasing nationally. Surrey Police have prioritised retail crime and has seen a significant increase in the number of offenders identified arrested and charged for offences.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

Local officers complete regular patrols liaising with retailers and encouraging reporting of offences. We work closely with neighbouring forces to identify suspects and take positive action to bring them to justice. Recently we have run operations targeting organised shoplifters resulting in a number of arrests and have further operations planned.

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour within the Sandy Hill estate which is affecting local residents.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

Local officers are patrolling the area to engage with residents and deter ASB and take positive action. Officers are liaising with housing, ASB leads and the council.
