About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

    Increased theft from shops and concerns regarding threats / violence towards retail staff

    The team have successfully identified an organised crime group targeting Tesco in Caterham and 5 adults have been charged with conspiracy to steal in relation to 37 offences over 11 counties.
    The team complete regular engagement with the local shops and businesses to increase confidence locally.
    Following this engagement there has been an increase in reporting of offences locally.
    The team are targeting repeat offenders and utilising anti social behaviour legislation when appropriate
    There have been and there are further policing operations in the town, both overt and covert targeting retail crime and
    anti social behaviour.
