About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

    To work with partner agencies, retailers and businesses to reduce criminal offences and Anti Social behaviour in our Town Centres.

    Action taken:

    High Visible patrols have been conducted in our town centre both during the daytime trading hours and during late evenings.
    Officers have engaged with local retailers, businesses, banks, restaurants, cafes and licensed premises to understand local concerns, encourage reporting and gather intelligence.
    Lowestoft Police are working with Lowestoft B.I.D to help reduce town centre related issues.
    Lowestoft Police are working with partner organisations to tackle the sale of illegal tobacco and illegal vapes.
    Positive action will be taken against those who commit crime and cause harassment, alarm and distress to others.

    To provide a visible policing presence in our public open spaces, including parks, play areas and coastal areas.

    Police are patrolling our local open spaces to ensure these areas are safe and feel safe to others.

    To reduce the illegal and dangerous use of e-bikes, e-scooters and non-road worthy off road bikes through targeted enforcement, education and partnership working.

    Action taken:

    Following reports of off-road motorbikes/dirt bikes being ridden around Lowestoft Police have conducted patrols and seized various vehicles. Follow up action is now being taken against those involved.
