About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Rural crime, including theft of motor vehicles and machinery, particularly affecting the farming community.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Incoming calls, incidents and intelligence monitored to identify trends and cross-border criminal activity. This will aid proactive work and joint investigations.

    Actioned 01 October 2026

  • Priority:

    Road safety and speeding.

    Issued 01 September 2025

    Action taken:

We are working with the Safer Roads Partnership and our roads policing unit to deploy in the area to support our neighbourhood officers and tackle concerns. Over the winter period, officers will be focussing on road safety in the area and carrying out operations to reduce the risk of speeding and collisions.

    Actioned 31 January 2026

  • Priority:

    Theft from businesses

    Issued 29 March 2026

    Action taken:

We want to inform all members of the community about a recent increase in thefts targeting businesses in our area, with a particular focus on oil theft. This issue is not isolated—it reflects a broader regional trend impacting commercial enterprises, especially those in the catering industry. Local police are actively investigating these incidents and will follow up on all reports to identify suspects and prevent further losses.
Your vigilance is crucial. If you witness any suspicious activity or notice unfamiliar vehicles near business premises, please report these observations promptly to your local police team. Timely reporting helps law enforcement respond effectively and increases the chances of identifying those responsible.
Together, we can help protect our businesses and maintain a safe environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

    Actioned 01 June 2026
